Working Member of the Month
- Ken Johnson , cashier and dedicated
working member, Thank you for his
ongoing support of the Coop
Department Head of the Month
- Amy Young, Fill-in Department Head for
Jim Lawrence, thanks for stepping up and
tackling such a big job
The first half of the year 2016 is behind us and as
we look back we are proud to note that the Baker
Food Co-op is experiencing a record breaking year
to date. Our average daily sales have been well
above our five year average every month this year.
This is a great trend and we wish to see it
continue. Ninety present of our sales are to OUR
MEMBERS, thank you! Tell your friends and
neighbors about the friendly atmosphere and
service at the co-op, and remember you don’t need
to be a member to shop.
On July 21st we had our annual picnic/potluck at
Geiser Pollman Park. Thank you to all who
attended and provided a potluck dish to share. The
potluck was enjoyed by all. As mentioned at the
picnic there are a few things to look forward to in
the coming months; a more professional
appearance of our employees and cashiers with
new aprons and name tags, the purchase of an
additional new cooler or two, new flooring in the
kitchen area, and sun blocking window shades.
The Board and Employees
of Baker Food Co-op would
like to thank all of those
who took the time and put
forth the effort needed to
move out the old freezer,
clean the area and move in
the new freezer. It was a
HUGE job that could not
have been done without
YOUR HARD WORK.
MANY THANKS TO ALL!

DO YOU REMEMBER THE CO-OP FOR YOUR PERISHABLES?
When you have to run to the store for those things you run out of all the time, do you think of the Co-op? We have many of the things that you stand in a long line for at the chain store, fresh, wholesome, healthy – just waiting for you. And as a member you save money. Hey, it’s a no brainer. Have you listened to your neighbors and friends complaining about the lack of choice when it comes to food shopping? Are you tired of paying the high cost of foods that aren’t really the best for you and your family? That is where your Co-op membership comes in. You get 5% off when you shop with us. If you come and work a few hours you can make that as much as 30% off your grocery bill. With a little effort as running a cash register a few hours a month or week, or weighing and bagging food. Maybe you want to know what the freshest produce is. Then come in and help on Tuesdays when the truck comes in to sort and stock. You could dust or sweep. Stock Shelves. REMEMBER US BEFORE YOU GO TO THE OTHER STORE
MEMBERS / OWNERS PICNIC – GREAT PARTY
ON JULY 19TH THE ANNUAL MEMBERS / OWNERS PICNIC WAS HELD AT THE
GIESER PULLMAN PARK WITH MEMBERS, STAFF AND BOARD IN
ATTENDANCE. THE MEETING WAS SHORT BUT THE FUN WAS LONG AND
THE FOOD WAS BOUNTIFUL AND DELICIOUS. THOSE THAT MISSED IT LOST
OUT ON A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND GREET THEIR FRIENDS
AND CO-MEMBERS.

Featuring OptiMSM® - the only brand of MSM with published, peer-reviewed safety data. OptiMSM® is licensed under worldwide R.J. Herschler patents and Made InThe U.S.A. by Bergstrom Nutrition for over 25 years.
What is MSM (methylsulfonylmethane)? It’s
an organic sulfur-containing compound
that’s used to improve immune function,
lower inflammation and help restore healthy
bodily tissue. The reason so many benefits
are attributed to the MSM supplement is
because MSM provides biologically active
sulfur, which is the fourth most plentiful
mineral in the body and needed for many
different critical bodily functions every single
day.
