Lost and found items are kept until the end of the session. Encour-age your camper to check lost and found each day for things possibly left behind the day before. The YMCA is not responsible for lost, stolen or broken possessions that are brought to camp.
COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS Our primary method of communication is via email. Each week you are registered you will receive the following communication updates from camp: General Camp Email - All camp participants will receive a general email from our camp team about the weekly theme and general procedures and expectations for our camp on Sunday. Camp Specific Email - You will receive an email on Sunday from your child’s lead counselor for the week with infor-mation specific to the camp they are registered for. This will allow you the chance to communicate directly with your child’s counselor throughout the week. Midweek Check-in - Our counselors will check-in on Wednes-days with parents/guardians to see how the camper is enjoy-ing the week and if there is anything that needs to be ad-dressed and or any way we can make your experience better. Weekly Recap - We will send a weekly recap email on Fridays
CAMP GOALS - Provide a safe, fun, recreational atmosphere for all campers. - Promote caring, honesty, respect and responsibility throughout day camp. - Help campers and staff build their sense of self-confidence. - Provide opportunities within the program for campers to develop in-terpersonal relationships and social skills. - Provide campers with activities which offer a progressive experience. BEHAVIOR / BULLY POLICY Promoting social interaction and building interpersonal skills are among the most important goals of Camp Sanders. Staff will help campers with this process by providing on-going encouragement and assistance. Coun-selors are trained to provide corrective action in a positive and supportive manner designed to build self-confidence and teach responsibility. On the first day of each session all camp rules will be covered and ex-
plained by camp administrators. Each camper is expected to follow these
rules to maintain a safe, well-organized program. If a camper cannot
adjust to these rules and expectations, we reserve the right to terminate
the camper’s enrollment for the summer. If this happens, we will NOT is-
sue a refund.
In
YOU’RE IN GOOD HANDS Your child will be cared for by our well-trained counselors and Leader’s In
Training (LITs). To ensure your child’s safest experience possible, each
counselor has passed a background check and has a current CPR and First
Aid certification.
WE WELCOME FEEDBACK We always encourage input and feedback formally and informally.
We will send out two surveys over the course of the summer.
THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING THE Y!
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is committed to providing financial assistance
to those who cannot afford the full price of our programs – including
camp. Last year hundreds of children in the metro Atlanta area attended
camp because they were awarded scholarships to various YMCA camps.
Money for scholarships is not generated from membership dues. We rely
on gifts from friends like you to provide this much needed assistance.
Through WHY IT MATTERS, local businesses and individuals partner with
the Y to ensure every child can be part of the Y and the programs offered.
The need for community programs that build character and foster good
citizenship continues to grow each day. Please consider sponsoring a
camper and providing him/her with a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
