September Dinner Meeting
Please join us at our 9/19/2017 ASQ-Raleigh Dinner Meeting for a reliability tutorial before dinner and an "Optimizing your SPC" presentation after dinner by Mark Crossley, president and principal consultant for Quality Management Associates, Inc. For more details and to register, please go to https://asqraleigh-sept2017-dinner-mtg.eventbrite.com The tutorial and dinner presentations will cover the following: Before Dinner Tutorial: A brief introduction to Reliability: If your product can “fail” you need to
understand the concepts of reliability. This tutorial will cover the fundamentals of MTBF, Confidence interval for MTBF, and reliability demonstration testing. A real time reliability Exercise will be featured.
2. After Dinner Presentation: Optimizing your Statistical Proces Control. While SPC can be a powerful
tool, many times we fail to accurately determine the proper subgroup sample size and the appropriate sampling frequency. Many references fail to discuss exactly how this should be done. If you define what level of process change you want to detect and how soon you want to detect this change after it occurs, we can determine exactly the correct subgroup sample size and the frequency of sampling. This presentation will show you how to accomplish this thus optimizing your SPC control chart.

Recertification tip:
Just a reminder to check your recertification due dates. Recertification applications can be submitted up
to six months in advance of the recertification due date. There is also a six month grace period for
submission of recertification applications after the recertification due date.
When claiming training classes in the Professional Development category of your Recertification Journal, it is
required to have listed as evidence the total number of actual training time performed. This is required in
order to calculate the ASQ RU credit. If your certificate does not tell the number of hours, an agenda that
reflects the training hours will work too. To qualify, all training must correlate to the Body of Knowledge for
your particular certification and remember you can receive .1 RU for every hour of qualified training. This is
the most common issue seen when reviewing Recertification Journals.
ASQ Dinner Meeting Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation notification must be received no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the event in order to
receive a full refund. To request a cancellation, please send an email to ASQ at [email protected]
Registration for Dinner Meeting Events after Registration is closed in Eventbrite:
To register for an event after the deadline, please send an email to ASQ at [email protected]. ASQ Raleigh
can only accept cash or checks when paying at the door. Credit or debit cards are not accepted.
