packages, posters, etc.
• Graphic Design uses a symbols, colors, type, and illustrations to communicate ideas

Typography
• Typography- the art and technique of composing printed material from letterforms
• Typeface=font• Typeface used to be determined by the
typewriter or had to be hand drawn. These days, anyone with a computer can use many different typefaces

Serifs are the short lines with pointed ends at an angle from the main stroke
