Program Spotlights: Scripps Immigration Program and Arabic Course

The Scripps Howard Immigration Training Program ends today. The journalist participants are extremely happy with the experience. Read our liveblogging of the panels here.

The Covering Labor Issues for Arab Journalists Course completed its first successful week. The course, conducted in Arabic, has 35 participants selected from 14 different Arab countries. It will conclude August 20.

Where Is...?PATRICK and JERRI are off to Kampala, Uganda to meet with ICFJ’s African Knight Fellows. PATRICK left today and will return in 2 weeks. Jerri left yesterday and will return August 4.

MARIO will be on vacation until July 16. He’ll also be wrapping up the Austria program July 19.

JOYCE will be back from NY July 19.

BASSAM will be back from Turkey July 20.

New Chapters at ICFJ

An Update from HR: We have completed updating our Trip Planner to include the fare change on August 1. Metro will enact a new 20 cent surcharge during peak-of-the-peak periods (weekdays 7:30 - 9 a.m. and 4:30 - 6 p.m.), based on the time you enter the rail system. In order to get the new fares, you must enter a date in the Trip Planner that is on, or after, August 2.
