AT THE SECOND ANNUAL LEGACY GALA AT THE ANCIENT SPANISH MONASTERY

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL – MARCH 15, 2012 —At 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 on the picturesque grounds of the Ancient Spanish Monastery, the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation presents the 2012 Legacy Gala.

Each year the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, proudly honors individuals whose distinguished achievements and contributions have provided a legacy of exceptional leadership in South Florida. The Legacy Gala serves as the Foundation’s hallmark fundraiser supporting the preservation of the art, antiquities and architecture of the 900 year old Ancient Spanish Monastery. As custodians of this historic gem, the Foundation is tasked with demonstrating the historical significance and preserving the legacy of the Monastery for generations to come.

The 2012 Legacy Gala is an elegant evening under the stars featuring noted influencers in our local business, civic and philanthropic communities. This year’s distinguished honorees are: The Honorable Carlos A. Gimenez - Miami-Dade County, The Honorable Sally A. Heyman - District 4 Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, Phyllis S. Smith - Councilwoman North Miami Beach, Mr. Daniel Fils-Aime Sr. - Founder/Chairman of the Haitian American Historical Society, and Oscar Llorente - Art and Culture Center of Hollywood.

The Board of Directors and Trustees of the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation and Master of Ceremonies Jawan Strader of CBS 4 cordially invite the South Florida community to attend this elegant evening of signature cocktails and fine dining in honor of these exceptional community leaders.

Invited guests can look forward to the musical stylings of classical guitarist Carlos Abanto, Baila Flamenco, Feiruz fire dancing and other cultural performances.
