BRITISH RULE CONTINUED Sugar Act passes 1764
Effects merchants and upper class. Stamp Act 1765
All printed items must have stamp. Britain doesn’t want colonies becoming
free.

BOSTON MASSACRE Occurred March 5th, 1770. Protest aimed at British troops. Protesters throw snowballs at troops. Solider gets hit, orders open fire. 3 townspeople are killed.

BOSTON TEA PARTY Occurred on December 16th, 1773. Colonists dressed up as Indians. Boarded a ship, dumped tea off. Britain closes:
Boston harbor.No town meetings/must host soldiers.
