Some Observations
My findings - after years of conducting ship and company audits and reviews:
SMS is not user friendly. Mostly hard copy documents, not computerized.
Cumbersome. Too many manuals.
Burden of paperwork for front line personnel doing the business of the company.
Too many forms to fill out. If too many, they just do not fill them out.
Redundancy of forms. Parallel reporting of same information. Why not allow the computer to fill in the similar required forms with field personnel only filling in the fields?
Lack of Feedback
Black hole submissions. Field personnel feel they are submitting information and it goes into a black hole
One way street back to the company for reporting. The company only sends down more for the field personnel to record and submit without additional resources.
