between exhibits in an informal way.
A variety of exhibition spaces are achieved with different conditions within them. Darkened and insular for experiential exhibits or those that require light protection. Light and open for bigger more robust objects.
Educational rooms provided for school groups. Many experiential and interactive exhibits for younger patrons. Outdoor space adjacent creates a park like environment for patrons. Two cafes are within the museum. One is located in the central exhibition space.
the space. Perhaps intentional?
Loading/unloading of exhibits would happen at the front of the building adjacent to the entrance (perhaps this is limited to non opening hours)
The shop is adjacent to the exit to encourage those leaving to buy souvenirs. Low ceiling entrance space enhances the high glazed courtyard once it is entered. Wheelchair accessible throughout. Li

super Hellenist and military leader, to Cyprus after years of exile.
EOKA, Ethniki Organosis Kyprion Agoniston (Greek for National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters) was a Greek Cypriot nationalist organisation that fought for the end of British rule of the island, for self-determination and for union with Greece.
Colonel George Grivas was the EOKA leader for the liberation of Cyprus during 1955 to 1959 before Cyprus was granted independence from British rule in 1960.The boat is about 13 metres long and 4 metres wide. In

Kyrenia II Ancient Grecian Sailship (replica)
Relocated from Kyrenia Castle, North Cyprus
The Kyrenia ship is the wreck of a 4th century BC Greek merchant ship. It was discovered by Greek-Cypriot sponge diver Andreas Kariolou in 1967 close to Kyrenia in Cyprus. Michael Katzev, a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, directed a salvage expedition from 1967-69. Preservation of the ship’s timbers continued during the winter of 1970. Katzev later was a co-founder
extensively covered in a documentary by the National Geographic Society. It is the only preserved ship from Greece’s Classical Age. The ship was considered to be very well preserved with approximately 75% of it in good condition. It found a new home at the Ancient Shipwreck Museum in Kyrenia Castle.
The ship sailed in the Mediterranean during the life time of Alexander the Great and his successors. She sank in open waters less than a mile from the anchorage of Kyrenia. The evidence point to her being taken by rough seas around the year 300 BC, when she was rather old, though piracy is becoming more likely.
Approx Dimensions: 12m L x 3m W x 10m H
Abeking & Rasmussen Classic Sailboat
Acquired by the Museum
Built by Abeking & Rasmussen in Germany in 1955 this long keeled 20m traditional yawl has a steel hull and teak superstructure and decks with varnished spruce spars. She has a full set of sails including spinnaker, mizzen staysail and storm sails. She has taken part successfully in many international ocean regattas and is now lying in Mallorca after many years cruising in the Med. The accommodation comprises of a master cabin with a double and a single berth plus a triple berth guest cabin (can easily be changed to the original 4 berth cabin), as well as a forward double crew cabin. She has two heads compartments, one with a shower.
She large saloon has a lovely ambience with a curved settee to port and a gimballed mahogany table. The immaculate engine room houses a Mercedes OM352 105 hp engine and a 2.5 kva generator. She is well equipped with autopilot, chart plotter, radar, liferaft,
classic yacht that has always been well maintained.

clothes, personal belongings and gold to be prepared for after life, but Khufu was wise enough to create junk replicas of his precious belongings to fool greedy visitors. Thieves were said to be found dead after 24
As you leave Khufu’s Pyramid, to the south is the Solar Boat Museum, home to the boat believed to have transported King Khufu’s body to the Pyramid. The 142 ft stunning boat, was discovered in 1945, but was found in separate parts, and was re-assembled through
on the boat’s hull indicates that the boat was used only once, reinforcing the above-mentioned belief.
