Did you ever nolo, i n your nand a rose, a plant, or even a tiny seed and wonder where its beauty comes from? Or did you plant a seed and watch, day by day, and marvel at nature's way? How miraculous are the ways of na tu re ; s o beau t i fu l tha t man can never fashion or create a rival.
Another word for nature, of course, is God. He creates. Beauty in all its forms comes from Him, and to us they are g iven ; nature 's bounties, we call them.
When you go to church this Sunday, say another word of "thanks" for alL that is good , all that is beautiful; all that vou possess !

Academy Sports When Culver Mil i ta ry Academy
tennis coach C. C. "Ted" Clarno oized up this year's team a few weeks ago, he said he'd be surprised i f the squad came up w i t h a break-even season.
Today the tennis is coasting far ahead of the other spring athletic teams at the Academy wi th a 6-0 record, and Clarno acknowledges that perhaps he was sl ightly pessimistic in evaluating this year's squad.
" I ' m pleased wi th t h e way tilings have gone," he says, "and our success is due mainly to some of the younger boys who have developed f a s t e r than we (.bought/'
Latest vict im of the Eagle net squad was Logansport, which felt
the fu l l impact, of a 9-0 Culver victory here Saturday. Culver not only blanked the squad but in three individual matches the Logansport players failed to win a game. It was the th i rd shutout for I lie tennis team, which has been extended in only one match this season, a 4-3 t r iumph over For t Wayne Concordia.
In other sports events this weekend, the golf team won two more in a tr iangular match over Grif f i th (12-3) and Northl'ield i 15-0). the baseball t e a m dropped a double-head to Greene Township, 10-!) and 1-2, and the crew finished out of the running in (lie tough West Virg in ia Centennial Regatta against two college freshman boats. The track team, defending its t i t le in the Lime City Relays at Huntington, came in fourth.
The Academy linksmen r a n
their record to 5-1 by whipping Gri f f i th and Northfield. Gr i f f i th brought an 11-1 record to Culver and Northfield. which is j u s t s tart ing in the sport, was 2-3 before the match Saturday. Culver Captain Bob Hightower posted the low medal score wi th a seven-over-par 79.
Unearned runs cost tne baseball squad ils victory over Green Township. Eight of the unearned came in t h e first game, and Greene Township had a big th i rd inning when i t scored eight runs. The visitors scored the winning two runs in the final inning of the second game.
At Parkersburg, W. Va., the crew ran into rough competition from freshman boats from Marietta (O.) College and Drexel Ins t i tute of Technology, Philadelphia. Placed in the heat with the college freshman crews because of its superior practice times, Culver finished th i rd in a disputed
race over misplaced finish lines. But the Academy's commendable time of 5:34 for the mile coorse was far superior to that of any of the high school crews rowing in other heats.
In sports event Saturday, the baseball team faces St. John's Mi l i t a ry in a 1:30 p.m. double-header here, the crew is host to Ecorse Boat Club of Detroit and Lincoln Park Boat Club of Chicago in a 1:30 p.m. race on Lake Maxinkuckee, while the golf and tennis teams are at Howe. The track team runs at Bremen in a 7 p.m. meet Friday.
