8 TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DINNER
TUESDAY, MAY 22, 2018 | 6 :00 P.M.THE WESTIN BOSTON WATERFRONT
“We are here because we are supposed to be here. Because we owe it to them, we swore we would never forget. We have a creed that says we will leave no man behind. If we did not take the time to honor them, we would be leaving behind. If we did not work to support the Gold Star Families, we would be leaving behind. If we did not work hard to empower the Veterans that served alongside them, we
would be leaving them behind.”
Master Sergeant Gregory Kelly, President and Co-Founder, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), U.S. Army
Since inception in 2010, Mass Fallen Heroes, with the support of the community, has had the mission of building a one-of-a-kind memorial in the Boston Seaport to forever honor and memorialize our brothers and sisters who have fallen in service since September 11, 2001. In May 2016, the 50-foot Mass Fallen Heroes Memorial, designed by world-renowned architect James Carpenter, was built in representation of all five branches of the military. To date, we have lost 282 Massachusetts military members since September 11, 2001. Their names are etched in remembrance and represent our permanent tribute to honor their sacrifice.
We continue the mission of honoring our Fallen through various programs and civic engagements in support of Gold Star Families and Veterans.
Through events and programs for Gold Star Families, we bring together those that know best about their shared unique loss in order to create a family between families. We offer a forum and community to heal by living life, sharing the stories of their loved ones, and bonding with other families. Mass Fallen Heroes leverages a network of resources and community partnerships to provide financial support, excursions, outings, and trips to Gold Star Families.
We provide post-service and transition support to our fellow Veterans, military personnel, and their families. We offer an extensive health and wellness referral network, legal counsel, and employment resources to empower Gold Star Families, Veterans, and their families. Building strong financial, physical, and professional futures for our Gold Star and Veteran Community is a critical part of our mission.

Massachusetts Fallen Heroes2017 Year in Review
Through community programs, we continue to unite our Commonwealth and raise public awareness, as we will continue our mission to Honor, Support and Empower Gold Star Families, Veterans, active/guard/reserve and their families. Over the next 12 months, Mass Fallen Heroes will expand our statewide Gold Star Family programs, address the unemployment, underemployment, and entrepreneurship issues that our Veterans experience, and strategically plan our future interactive museum and education center.
Our InnoVets program will be a major focus for our organization, as it will empower veteran business owners, providing them with a business mentor network, a professional consulting service,
and an educational curriculum focused on business fundamentals. We launched InnoVets with our inaugural Veteran Entrepreneur Pitch Competition and Veterans Day Leadership Panel. In Fall 2018, MFH will announce our new home for MFH and InnoVets.
Our pillar and most important task will be to continue to honor the Fallen by providing assistance to their families and offering opportunities for them to carry on the memories of their loved ones. Our Memorial Program will continue to grow as we plan the timeline and construction of our 2,000sf Interactive Memorial and Education Center. It is our goal to finalize all construction of the Memorial, Education Center, and InnoVets Incubator by 2020.
The Future of Mass Fallen Heroes
Community support is invaluable to our organization and has been the foundation for our growth. Corporate funding makes it possible for us to fund our memorial endowment and continue to offer no-cost programs, events, and services for the Gold Star Families, Veterans, and military service members.
Additionally, with our partners, we are able to increase awareness of Mass Fallen Heroes and our mission. This collaborative effort increases awareness, patriotism, and service with Massachusetts citizens as we memorialize the 282 military members we have lost since September 11, 2001.
The Memorial Dinner serves as our primary fundraiser and most dynamic display of our programs. Highly distinguished guests, Gold Star Families, Active Service members, and community supporters gather to “Honor their Sacrifice” and hear the stories of those impacted by the programs and services provided by Mass Fallen Heroes. The inspirational and motivational event captures the essence of our community.
