Identifying Social Issues in our CommunityCrowe 2015
Objective and Warm Up• Objective: IWBAT identify and define relevant social issues through discussion
based on a video clip, and discuss what social issues are present in my daily life in my community, by sharing what I know about each issue in spoken and written statements.
• Language Objective: IWBAT use sentence starters to create complete statements in English incorporating new content vocabulary in order to express what I already know about these issues.
Warm Up (10 minutes)
Use the post it notes to make comments about the images and you see around the room.

Class Definitions and Word BankTurn and Talk (3 minutes): Discuss what you wrote on your post it notes for each chart. • What are social Issues?• How will we define these terms for use in our classroom?
