STATE TIMES NEWS DODA/RAMBAN: Carryingforward the Tiranga Rally toerstwhile Doda District, ex-MLA and NPP PresidentBalwant Singh Mankotiaasked Central Governmentto extend rights toParliament of country toframe laws on Jammu andKashmir. Until rights areextended to lawmakers of thecountry, dream of one nationone Constitution could notbe fulfilled.

After successful conduct-ing the Tiranga Rally in twinborder districts of Rajouriand Poonch, NPP presidentBalwant Singh Mankotiacarried forward the rally tohilly erstwhile Doda andRamban district of Jammuregion on the eve of acces-sion day. While addressingthe gathering at Rambanand then at Doda, Mankotiasaid that party has startedTiranga rally on the eve ofaccession day on 8th ofOctober from Samba andorganised rallies at Reasi,Udhampur, Rajouri andPoonch district and on

Saturday reached atRamban and Doda district.

Mankotia said that untilrights to frame laws onJammu and Kashmir areextended to Parliament ofthe country, dream of onenation, one constitution can-not be fulfilled. He said Oct27, 1947 is an historic dayfor us when people of thestate get right to become thecitizen of great country.

He further said NPPdemands that Accession Daybe celebrated at governmentlevel like 26thJanuary and15th August and people

should celebrate this day likeDiwali, Eid andGurpurab.On this occasion,BSP leader SohailMohammed and GeneralSecretary Prithvi RajBhagat along with Rambandistrict unit and supportersjoined the Panther Party andNPP president BalwantSingh Mankotia welcomedthem in party fold. DuringTiranga rally, RanjeetSharma, Rajinder Bali,Parshotam Parihar, GaganPartap Singh, Seva SinghBali also addressed the gath-erings.

In wall-hanging competi-tion which was organisedfor class III, Vrinda fromGulab house got first whileAnsh and Tanvi Pawar fromAmar house got second andthird position respectively.

In Diya Decoration com-petition which was organ-ised for classes 4th and 5th,Sakhi Sharma from Prataphouse and Umang Raj fromAmar House got first,Shriya Mehra and ManyaGupta from Ranbir housegot second while MisthiGupta from Gulab andJanvi Mehra from Ranbirhouse got third position.

In group II, Saniya ,

Aastha Gupta, SunakshiLangeh, Sonia, Vaishali andShivom from Pratap Housegot first position. STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: State PresidentBJP SC Morcha and MLASamba Dr Devinder KumarManyal on Saturday startedthe construction oflane/drain in village Dabohand Mananu Block Nudwhich will be constructed bythe Rural DevelopmentDepartment with an esti-mated cost of Rs 4.50 lakh.

While addressing local res-idents Dr Manyal said con-struction of these lanes andprotection works will defi-nitely help the locals a lotand it will be assured thatevery possible facility is pro-vided to them at their doorsteps. Constituency on the aspectof development.

STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi VigyanKendra(KVK), Reasi ofSher-e-Kashmir Universityof Agricultural Sciences andTe c h n o l o g y - J a m m u(SKUAST-J) organised atraining programme on com-mercial organic farming heretoday at Talwara village inPouni block of Reasi districtwhich was attended by alarge number of farmers ofthe village.

The programme was organ-ised under the guidance ofAssociate Director Extensionand Incharge of KVKs ofSKUAST-J, Dr.R.K Arora.Various theoretical as well aspractical sessions were

organised during the pro-gramme on organic farming.

Scientist and Head ofKVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lalgave a detailed view on com-mercial organic farming andsaid that eco-friendly organicfarming is helpful for theenhancement of soil health,sustainable yield and income.He highlighted the need oforganic farming to harvestquality farm produce withoutany residual effect. H estressed on the proper mar-keting management of theorganic crops.

Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, sci-entist guided the farmers forthe organic treatments ofinsects-pests and diseases in

Rabi crops. He recommend-ed certain organic chemicalsfor their management. Headded that organic vegeta-bles grown under protectedconditions give more yieldand farmers can grow thevegetables throughout yearunder the green nethouse/polyhouse. He alsogave technical details oforganic floriculture speciallymarigold cultivation, medici-nal and aromatic plants, veg-etables and fruits processingetc. In this training pro-gramme farmers interactedwith the scientists andcleared their doubts especial-ly on commercial organicfarming.

The event was also attend-ed by an awardee progressiveorganic crops grower, HansRaj who shared his experi-ences on organic farmingwith the other farmers. Thescientists also demonstratedthe techniques of growing thewinter vegetables in a scien-tific way and provided wintervegetables seeds to the farm-ers through Front LineDemonstrations (FLDs).The programme were con-cluded by Dr.Banarsi Lalwith the vote of thanks.

STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: The DistrictInformation Centre (DIC) ,Samba organised DogriMushairas at Govt Hr SecSchool Gho Brahmana andGovt Middle School Gadwalof Vijaypur in which manypoets recited their poemsrelated to Culture, Languageand social issues.

Many prominent and bud-ding poets of the district par-ticipated including Ajit palSharma, Ajay Slathia ,Naresh Kumar ,BasakhiRam, Satya Paul Gadwalia ,Neelam Gandotra , Sat paul ,Jasbir Kumar and SurjeetKumar.The poets presentedtheir poetry with great per-fection and were appreciatedby the audience. Theystressed on standardizing thelanguage and promoting itsuse as it has also been givendue official recognition in theeighth schedule of the IndianConstitution.

The DIC had organised the

functions with objective ofproviding stage to local poetsand to promote the local lan-guage in society. Also, inter-action of young poets withestablished poets of the dis-trict and children would golong way in shaping the liter-ary talent.

The poets appreciated theinitiative of the departmentfor promoting the motherlanguage and said that suchprogrammes should be

organized in near future sothat people in general and lit-erary personalities of the dis-trict particularly may partic-ipate in these events. STATE TIMES NEWS NOWSHERA: An aware-ness programme on BetiBachao Beti Padhao(BBBP) was held in BoysHigher Secondary SchoolNowshera. Students,Teachers of various schools,Lambardars, Chowkidars,Ex-PRI members, Ashaworkers, Anganwadi work-ers/helpers and prominentcitizens participated in theprogramme.

A debate competition washeld in which students of var-ious schools participated.The mementos were distrib-uted among the winners andconsolation prizes to all theparticipating students.

Later a rally of studentswas flagged off by SDMNowshera Abdul Sattar andASP Nowshera Master Popsywhich after passing throughvarious streets of Nowsheratown culminated in the officepremises of SDM Nowshera.The banners and placardsdepicting Beti Bachao BetiPadhao were carried by thestudents in the rally.

STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: Irked over denialto National Anthem byPolytechnic College admin-istration, students held astrong protest in the collegepremises.

Raising slogans againstcollege administration, stu-dents alleged that certainsection of teachers startedabusing and misbehaving

them for the reason thatthey had sought time forNational Anthem.

Sensing trouble, SHOSamba Yash Pal SinghJamwal reached the collegeand tried to pacify the stu-dents, who were demandingstrict action against theteacher involved in conflictwith them.

Samba sought some timefrom the students to getinformation regarding theincident from the CollegeAuthorities to resolve theconflict.

He however, told the stu-dents that college adminis-tration has given nod to givetime for national anthemand soon the order shall beissued in this regard.

LMD recovers Rs 40,600 aspenalty from nine traders

STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: A team of Legal Metrology Department under thesupervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology SambaAjay Verma, Inspector LMD Samba Mohsin Khateeb andenforcement staff launched a special drive in view of Diwali fes-tival. The team conducted extensive checking of various businessestablishment particularly Sweets shops, Provisional storesdealing with gift items , Karyana shops dealing with Dry fruits,Hadware store, Cement stores, Bartan shops, and Bakery shopsat main Bazar Samba, vijaypur, Bari Brahamana, Nud andadjoining areas. During inspection, more than 90 traders deal-ing with different trades were inspected for their compliancewith regards to various provisions of J&K Standard of Weightsand Measures Enforcement Act 2011 and PackagesCommodities Rules. The team booked nine erring tradersincluding sweet shops, provisional stores, Karayana Shops andhardware /sanitary stores dealing with the Weights andMeasures and penalty of Rs 40,600 was imposed on them.

Rs 10,500 fine charged fromtraffic violators

STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: A team of Motor vehicle Department on Saturdaycharged Rs 10,500 fine from traffic violators during a sur-prise inspection in the main town areas. A team comprisingARTO Shammi Sharma MV Inspectors Vikas Srivats andSunil Sharma along with district police conducted checking atTrintha, Thapa Chowk and Baradari areas of the town andcompounded 63 vehicles for not wearing crash helmet andseat belt as also not possessing Pollution control certificate.The two wheeler riders and four wheeler drivers were alsomade aware about the safety benefits of wearing helmet andseat belt and following traffic rules to minimize road acci-dents and saving precious human lives. An amount of Rs10,500 was charged as fine from the offenders on spot.

ferent Dhabas located onNHW and arrested threepersons consuming liquor.
