Overview: Day One provides a regional context and update on adolescent HIV, while exploring the importance of partnership in our collective response. Inputs and discussions will demonstrate that we can increase our chance of success and have far greater impact when we establish strong alliances and work together at all levels, pooling the combined experience, resources and skills of peer supporters, health providers, youth networks, programme implementers, policy-makers and communities. Paediatric AdolescentTreatment Africa
PATA believes in the principle of developing sustainable interventions that are receptive to global guidance, linked to national strategic plans, informed by young people living with HIV and undertaken in collaboration with local communities. PATA works to extend the quality of service delivery on the frontlines of paediatric and adolescent HIV prevention, treatment, care and support. Health facilities within the PATA Network are encouraged to reach out to neighbouring facilities and local partners to expand the ‘PATA Network’ and extend the ‘PATA effect’ through ongoing peer-to-peer and south-to-south learning and exchange.
