Thisiswherewelive,anditiswherewelove.GodplacedusherenotjustasEnglishteacherandteacher'saide,butasambassadorsofHislove.Andthatiswhatweallare,whetherwearehereintheDRorintheStates.TheexcitementthatwegetovertheincrediblethingsGodisdoinginthisplaceiswonderful.Recently,thebathroomshavebeenpainted.Thereisstillalotofworktobedone,butIwouldsayit'sagoodstepintherightdirection. PA Team serves in many ways The1stPa.teamarrivedinLasColinasDec.28with23teammembers.ByJan.7,theconstructioncrewandHaitianworkershadcompletedbuildingasmallchurchonBateyMolinito,providedwatertothecenterofthevillage,builtchurchpews,taughtyoungmentocareformachineryandtorepairtruckmotors.Othershadpaintedonthecompound,helpedinotherministries,andgavethempainttobeautifytheHouseofHopewheretheylive.Everyday,theteensandadultleadersprovidedawonderfulpuppetministryinMolinito,ministeringtochildrenandfamiliesfromanotherbatey.MirkaRuiz,fromtheAllianceChurches,facilitatedtheministrybyleadingdiscussionoftheBiblestoriesandsingingforthefirst3days,afterwhichKetlyPierre,ABCmissionary,joinedthepuppetministry.TheyalsodidapresentationforChristfortheNationsChurch,inBateyEsperanzaandatColegioMoriah,teachingtheschoolkidshowtoutilizethepuppetswe’veleftthere.Thespecialdedicationserviceandreceptioninthenewlyconstructedchurchwasalovelyendingaswehuggedallthechurchmemberswho’dhelpedinsomanyways.ManyteammembershadprayedwithfolkintheirhomesorsharedtheloveofJesusinotherways.The2ndPa.team,arrivingJan.7,included26membersfrom6States;Godputtogetherthelargestmedicalcrewwe’dhadsince1985.Theysawmorethan1200patientsat6clinics,withthelastclinichavingmorethan380patients!Theconstructioncrew,mostlyfromMaine,installedsolarlightingintheMolinitochurch,builtaroofoverthehugeandnewlycleanedcisternthere,andrepaired“stuff”onthecompound.SometaughtEnglishandcraftsinColegioMoriah,artistsenhancedthechurchsanctuarywithalovelypaintingandcopperpanelsontheupstairswindows,andotherstaught,sang,andpreachedattheChurch.Manyworkedhardatshovelingandmovinghugepilesofsmallrockstocoverallthedirtareasofthecompound!AllsharedtheloveofJesusamongtheteammembersandwiththeHaitianpeople. ~PegThomas
