GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE
“We Can Do Better Together”Vivat Jesus
Dear Brother Knights,
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. The Christmas party was another successful event. We had a good time and many prizes were given out. Mama’s Pizzeria was very accommodating and the food was great. Thank you to Paul De Rosa and Brian Greene for organizing the event.
On December 17th the Operation Hope presentation was held at the Indian Land Middle School. Checks were giving out to the Indian Land Elementary, Middle and High School in a total amount of over $9,000. The event was covered by the Gateway and CN2 News. Special Thanks to David Doyle and his wife Connie for all that they have accomplished over the past two years with Operation Hope. They have raised over $19,000 for the charity.
Our next event is the Free Throw contest which will be held at the Indian Land Elementary School on January 10th at 7:00pm. We need Knights to help with the event and I am sure we will have many participants.
I am starting to lose count in all the events that we have been doing. Paul De Rosa organized a program meeting for 2014 early December and I can assure you we have an exciting year planned.
As the New Year approaches I want to thank the council for all that we have accomplished this year and I am looking forward to a great 2014.
Happy New Year,
God Bless
Vincent Rosacco

OPERATION HOPE PRESENTATION TO OUR
LOCAL SCHOOLS DECEMBER 17, 2013
Dave Doyle, chairman of OPERATION HOPE and fellow officers plus the State Deputy will be present with the presenting our gift checks to the Elementary, Middle and High Schools in Indian Land. The council effort’s has been long in the making. With a total of $11,647.06 collected from various vendors and people who have contributed cash, a dollar at a time when shopping in the area. Many thanks to the Brother Knights, vendors and individuals who made this a success. Each school has received $3,148.73 December 17, 2013. WOW, what an effort!!!
Have you ever asked yourself what we do with some of the money we raise? Much of the money from the OPERATION HOPE program last year went to the Middle and Elementary schools in Indian Land. Thousands of dollars went to help the with the special needs children. This year we will be doing the same with a larger donation. New this year we will be purchasing winter coats for needy children in the area at the cost of $500.00. Mission building fund. We raise it and we disburse it when we can. So Far we have collected over 200 pounds of food for the needy. We have been in a position to go further with our good works than ever before, thanks to many of our dedicated brother “Knights of Indian Land”. Will keep you updated as we go along.

Pro lifeJanuary 22, to be exact is the anniversary of Supreme Court ruling of the “Roe V Wade” decision that allowed children to be aborted on demand. It is a land mark date to remember especially for those of us who believe in the Sanctity of Life to continue the fight against this law and pray for its repeal. Let us all help where we can and get involved as much as we can. Prayer is a powerful way to soften people’s hearts. Write to our elected officials with your concerns, join the Rosary prayer groups, stand up for Life, and if able join the March for Life in Columbia on January 11.
Over 50 Million babies already have perishedPray for them!!
PRO LIFE
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we have turned our backs on you and your principles in your Word. We have allowed man to usurp Your role as God over life and the number of our days. But we come to you in brokenness and repentance over our sin. We cry out for Your mercy and ask You to remove the scourge of abortion from our land. Use us as your vessels, Lord, to bring the light of Your Truth to our nation once again. Because of Christ we pray, Amen. PROGRAM MEETING
Our Program meeting went well and will be post the entire events for 2014 in the February issue of the newsletter. There is something for everyone and we hope all will participate in as many as you can.
Our next dinner will be on March 16, at Midway Sundries to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and Father John’s birthday. Details to follow elsewhere in this newsletter. Tickets will be available shortly, so plan on making reservations. We can only accommodate 60 to 70 guests at the restaurant. Start getting ready for the wearing of the GREEN. Contact Paul for information and reservations.
FOOD COLLECTION
DON’T FORGET THE NEEDY
Our Lady of Grace Knights of Columbus food collection will continue throughout the year. We are asking that everyone coming to our meetings to bring some nonperishable food item. Canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, jellies, dried cereal, paper products, etc. Of course we have no place to store these items as food pantries do, so we will continue to take all of the collected food to the local pantries serving Indian Land. The Supreme council has a program that all councils will receive $100.00 for every 500 pounds of food donated. That is a good way to take that money and use it for other charities. Let’s take advantage of this program! So far we have contributed over 300 pounds for Thanksgiving and Bel Air pantry. We are almost there!!!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PRAYER
O Almighty and Eternal God, Lord of the Universe, sustain us, we beseech Thee, o’re the course of “life’s tempestuous sea”. Keep us, we pray Thee, secure within the Bark of Peter, ever trustful of Christ and his Vicars to guide us along the ways of peace and prosperity. May Jesus, Our Savior preserve us in the Unity of the Holy Faith and confirm our hopes of sharing its treasures with America. Send forth the power of love of the Holy Spirit, that we may be blessed in our efforts to set fourth Thy glory in this land under the patronage of Mary’s Immaculate Conception. Let our Fraternity flourish in justice and charity and give eternal praise and glory to the Most Holy Trinity. Be mindful of each of our brothers, departed and receive them into the heaven of eternal peace. Amen
