Mission:• To champion the
sustainable production and equitable distribution of
energy and food in communities across
Minnesota
Intern Responsibilities:•Facilitate and enable partnerships between produce growers and local food shelves•Support community and home gardeners by helping them plant vegetables•Monitor the status and ripeness of produce•Organize produce-gleaning events•Educate gardeners and orchard owners about effective growing methods • Assist with data management•Promote Fruits of the City and The Garden Gleaning Project by utilizing multiple means of social media
Internship Projects:
•Fruits of the City-a community-lead initiative that aims to collect fresh fruits that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it to those in need
•The Garden Gleaning Project-a program that facilitates the harvesting and redistribution of fresh produce from private and community gardeners for use at local food shelves
