Technical Information
Bound Inserts:These form an integral part of the book. Single pages can only be bound-in ifthe magazine is glue-bound and cannot be placed as the first or last page.For processing with glued binding please note that an additional trim edge of3mm on the back is required.
Format:The minimum size for processing for glue-bound is 115 x 140 mm. Boundinserts should always be untrimmed and, if multi-page, folded. The fibre di-rection should always lie parallel to the back. Trim sizes: top 6 mm, back 3mm (glue-binding only), outside and bottom 3 mm.
Weight of paper:Bound inserts should not have a paper weight of less than:1 sheet (2 pages) 120g/m2, 2 and 3 sheets (4 to 6 pages) 80g/m2
4 sheet (8 pages) 50 g/m2
Loose inserts:Inserts, which are loose in the magazine, may only carry the sales offers ofan advertiser. They must be designed so that they cannot be mistaken withthe editorial of the magazine.
Format:Minimum format 105 x 148 mm. The maximum format must be 10mm smallerin height and width than the trimmed size of the carrier magazine.
Weight of paper:Inserts up to 6 pages require a minimum paper weight of 100 g/m2. For insertsof 8 pages the paper weight should be no less than 60 g/m2. The weight of aninsert may not exceed 50 g/copy. The total weight of all loose inserts in Mag-azines, which are distributed by post, may not exceed 150g.
Delivery up to 14 days prior to the publication date to the specific printers(please ask us for more information). Please state the name of the magazineand the issue number. Any freight costs will be passed on.

Business Terms1.The Publishers reserve the right to accept or refuse advertising and insert orders at their discre-tion. The Publishers reserve the right to accept or reject the texts or parts thereof of any advertise-ments accepted. The Publishers can justify their acceptance or rejection of advertisements orparts thereof on grounds of content, origin or technical form. The Publishers are even entitled toreject advertising orders placed through their agents or branch offices. The Client shall be notifiedimmediately in the event of a rejection. - Cancellations of firmly placed orders shall not be accept-ed even if the magazine's internal structure, design, scope, title or ownership are changed or ifparts of the advertising copy submitted are rejected by the Publishers pursuant to Sentence 2. Inthe event of a revision of the advertising rates, the new terms shall apply even to current orderseither immediately, in the case of a reduction, or one month later in the case of an increase in pric-es. The rates applicable shall be specified in the imprint.2. The Advertiser shall submit the advertising copy in time. The rates do not include the costs ofdesigns and artwork etc. If the printing materials are not provided by the Client, he shall becharged accordingly for any work carried out on his behalf. Printing materials shall be retained forno longer than three months after execution of the order.3. The Publishers shall not be liable for any errors ensuing from telephone or telefax communica-tions of any kind or for the accuracy of any translations of advertising texts.4. Advertisements shall be placed continuously from the next available issue onwards unlessagreed otherwise. The Publishers reserve the right to postpone or advance publication as requiredfor technical or other reasons. No guarantee is given for the placement of advertisements in partic-ular positions or issues. If an advertising order contains placement specifications, however, theadvertising order shall be regarded as binding whether or not the specifications can be compliedwith. The standard rates shall be charged for the placement specifications accepted. The exclu-sion of competitors is not possible.5. The Publishers guarantee the best possible reproduction of the advertisement subject to thetechnical possibilities and time at their disposal. Any complaints must be lodged not later than 30days after printing or the date of invoice. If reproduction was unsatisfactory, the Client shall haveno claims unless the faults in question were immediately apparent on the copy and did not tran-spire only upon printing. In the event of a totally or partially illegible, incorrect or incomplete repro-duction of the advertisement, the Client shall have a claim to appropriate compensation in the formof additional advertising space equivalent to the extent to which the purpose of the original adver-tisement was impaired. There shall be no claims on the Publishers going beyond this. The Clientshall have no claims due to missing or incorrectly printed check marks.6. Proofs shall be furnished only when expressly requested. The Client shall be responsible for theaccuracy of the returned proofs. If the Advertiser does not return the proofs by the required date,permission to print the advertisement in the form on the proof shall be deemed to have been given.7. The Client shall be responsible for calling forward an order in time for publication. The Publishersshall not be liable for any delays in execution occasioned by the Client.8. In cases of doubt, advertising orders shall be executed within one year of the signing of contract.Publication of the advertisements shall be spread evenly over the period concerned, unless agreedotherwise. The discounts listed in the price list shall be granted only for those of the Advertiser'sadvertisements which are actually published in a publication within a period of one year. This peri-od begins with the publication of the first advertisement unless agreed otherwise in the contract.For frequency orders, the discount rate granted shall depend on the rate of frequency. If an adver-tisement is inserted in a format larger than that originally ordered, this shall still count as only oneadvertisement unless the total millimetres justifies a higher discount rate. If fewer advertisementsthan scheduled in the contract are published within one year, the Publishers shall be entitled tocharge the Client for the difference between the discount originally granted and that earned by thenumber of advertisements actually published.9. Advertising agents and advertising agencies are bound to adhere to the Publishers' price lists intheir quotations, contracts and invoices issued to the Advertiser. The agent's commission grantedby the Publishers may not be passed on to the Client either in part or in full.10. The Advertiser shall have a retroactive claim to the discount applicable for the number of ad-vertisements actually published within a given year if he placed an order eligible for discount rightat the beginning of this period. This claim to a more extensive discount shall lapse unless enforcedno later than one month after the end of the advertising year. The retroactive discount shall begranted in the form of advertisements or in cash, if so requested. The burden of proof for a claim toretroactive discount is on the Advertiser.11. Acts of God, strikes, lock-outs or stoppages leading to an interruption of the publication of ad-vertisements shall not justify a withdrawal from contract. In such cases, the agreed insertion peri-od shall be extended accordingly. There can be no claims to compensation in such a case.12. The Advertiser must pay the full sum due if a contract is not completed for reasons beyond thePublishers' control. The invoice for the remaining period which may at first cover only part of thetotal due, shall be due for payment pursuant to No. 17, Paragraph 2 irrespective of whether or notthe insertion period has already expired.13. The Client may not assign any claims ensuing from the advertising contract to third parties.14. In the case of box number advertisements, the Publishers cannot be held responsible for thesafe custody an punctual forwarding of any quotations and offers received. Box-number returnsreceived by registered or express mail shall be forwarded as normal post. In their Clients' interestsand to prevent abuse of the box number service, the Publishers reserve the right to open lettersreceived. The Publishers are not obliged to forward advertising material and offers of agency ser-vices. Correspondence received in response to box number advertisements shall be retained for aperiod of four weeks. Box number returns which cannot be delivered to recipients within this peri-od shall be destroyed. Valuable documents shall be returned at the Publishers' discretion.15. If so requested, the Publishers shall supply free-of-charge a voucher copy of the advertisementwhen published. A complete voucher number shall be supplied if warranted by the type and scopeof the advertising order. If a voucher can no longer be obtained, the Publishers' confirmation of in-clusion shall take its place.16. Advertisements shall be charged by fractions of a page or, in the case of classified advertise-ments, by the actual printed height.17. If the Client does not pay in advance, the invoice shall be issued at the end of the month at thevery latest. The invoice is payable within the period specified in the rate list unless payment in ad-vance has been agreed. Discounts for prior payment shall be granted according to the rate list.18. In the event of a delay in payment, interest on the arrears and collection costs shall be charged.The Publishers shall be entitled to defer further execution of the order until payment is made or todemand payment in advance. In the event of bankruptcy, the entire sum or any advertisements stillremaining shall be due for payment immediately, even in the case of Section 17, Paragraph 1 of theBankruptcy Ordinance. Any discounts granted shall be cancelled in the event of bankruptcy, com-position proceedings or legal action.19. Should any of these terms of business be or become null and void, the contract and the remain-ing terms shall not be affected.20. The Publishers stores data acquired in its dealings with business partners in order to be able toprocess the same using automatic means.21. The place of fulfilment and sole place of jurisdiction for al contracts, regardless of the amountinvolved, is Würzburg District Court.
