Content (Syllabus outline):
Razprave o naravi dokazov v praksi zdravstvene nege in zdravstvu. Proces in metoda na dokazih utemeljene zdravstvene nege. Oblikovanje raziskovalnih vprašanj z uporabo modela. PICOT (Populacija, Intervencija, Primerjava Izid, Čas). Sistematično iskanje relevantnih dokazov in primernih dokazov. Kritična ocena kvantitativnih in kvalitativnih dokazov. Implementacija dokazov in evalvacija izidov. Znanost o izvajanju in promocija na dokazih utemeljene prakse.
Debates about the nature of evidence in nursing and health care practice. Evidence based practice process and Evidence based method. Identification of research questions using the PICOT model (Patient Intervention Comparison Outcome Time) Systematic searching of relevant and appropriate evidence. Critical appraisal of quantitative and qualitative evidence. Implementation of evidence and evaluation of outcomes. The science of implementation and promotion of evidence based practice.

Cilji in kompetence: Objectives and competences:
Študent bo sposoben: • razpravljati o naravi dokazov v praksi zdravstvene nege in zdravstvu, • razlikovati med sistematičnim pregledom in posamičnimi raziskavami, • uporabiti PICOT model oblikovanja specifičnega raziskovalnega vprašanja, • sposoben poiskati primerne dokaze glede na specifično raziskovalno vprašanje, • oceniti kvantitativne in kvalitativne dokaze, • interpretirati ugotovitve in podati predloge za prakso zdravstvene nege in zdravstva, • razpravljati o spodbudah in ovirah na dokazih utemeljene zdravstvene nege.
Student will be able: • to discuss about the nature of evidence in nursing and health care, • to differentiate between systematic review and single studies, • to use PICOT model for asking specific clinical/research question, • able to find appropriate evidence to address a specific research question, • evaluate the quality of quantitative and qualitative evidence, • able to interpret the findings and propose changes for nursing and health care practice, • able to discuss about facilitators and barriers of evidence based nursing.

Intended learning outcomes:
Študent: • razpravlja o naravi dokazov v praksi zdravstvene nege in zdravstvu, • razloži EBP proces in metodo, • oblikuje raziskovalno vprašanje z uporabo PICOT modela, • oblikuje iskalno strategijo in poišče primerne dokaze glede na specifično PICOT vprašanje, • kritično oceni kakovost dokazov različnih raziskav, • interpretira ugotovitve za prakso zdravstvene nege in zdravstva, • razpravlja o spodbudah in ovirah na dokazih utemeljene zdravstvene nege.
Student: • discuss the nature of evidence in nursing and health care practice, • explain EBP process and method, • formulate the research question using PICOT model, • design search strategy and search relevant evidence to address a specific PICOT question, • critically appraise the quality of a range of evidence, • interpret in order to inform nursing and health care practice, • discuss about facilitators and barriers in evidence based nursing.

pojasni raziskovalne paradigeme, filozofije znanostie, metodologije, in metode v zdravstveni negi in zdravstvu;
razloži pomen in značilnosti raziskovanja in raziskovalnega dela za zdravstveno nego;
izvede sistematični pregled literature na izbrano temo z uporabo PRISMA diagrama;
oblikuje raziskovalni problem, namen cilje in hipoteze v okviru kvantitativnega raziskovanja;
formulira raziskovalno vprašanje v okviru kvalitativnega raziskovanja;
zasnuje kvalitativni raziskovalni proces z utemeljitvijo metodologije, metod in etičnih vidikov;
izvede kvalitativno raziskavo in vrednoti ter
Student:

Modul »Klinična patofiziologija nujnih stanj« je namenjen spoznavanju patofizioloških procesov pri boleznih, ki privedejo do nastanka nujnih stanj v travmatologiji, interni medicini, kirurgiji, pediatriji, ginekologiji in porodništvu, intenzivni medicini, anesteziologiji in v urgentni medicini v izrednih razmerah. Študent bo spoznal povezanost patofizioloških dogajanj s klinično sliko urgentnih stanj in s smernicami za diagnostično in terapevtsko obravnavo ter zdravstveno nego urgentnega bolnika.
The aim of the modul „Clinical pathophysiology in emergency medicine“ is to learn basic principles of clinical patophysiology in traumatology, surgery, internal medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, anaesthesiology and in emergency medicine in extraordinary situations. The student will get familiar with connection between basis pathophysiology and clinical presentations in emergency medicine and critical care and also with principles of investigations treatment and nursing care.

Študenti morajo osvojiti osnove patofizioloških procesov pri razvoju bolezni, ki privedejo do nastanka nujnih stanj. osvoji temeljna teoretična znanja s področja patofiziologije bolezenskih procesov, ki privedejo do nastanka nujnih stanj zna aplikativno povezovati teoretična znanja s področja patofiziologije nujnih stanj z klinično sliko nujnega stanja ter s potrebnim diagnostičnim in terapevtskim ukrepanjem ter zdravstveno nego urgentnega bolnika.

Poznavanje in razumevanje patofizioloških procesov bo študentu omogočalo hitrejše prepoznavanje in razumevanje klinične slike in potrebe po terapevtskem ukrepanju pri posameznem primeru v kliničnem okolju.
Basic knowledge and understanding of the pathophysiologic basis of diseases will enable the student to faster recognition the clinical manifestations and therapeutic interventions on cases in the clinical environment.

Vsebina predmeta Nadzor in vzdrževanje vitalnih funkcij kritično bolnega zajema poznavanje osnovnih, kot tudi razširjenih načinov nadziranja življenjskih funkcij pri kritično bolnih ljudeh in pri bolnikih v perioperativnem obdobju, katerih poznavanje in uporaba sta nujno potrebna za optimalen nadzor bolnikov na oddelkih za intenzivno terapijo in v perioperativnem obdobju. 1. in kako jih nadziramo 2. EKG – motnje ritma 3. Hemodinamika 4. UZ ( TEE, regionalna anestezija, UZ v IT, TCD) 5. Transport kisika in kapnometrija 6. Laboratorijski testi (elektroliti, hemogram,
glukoza, plinska analiza arterijske krvi, koagulacijske motnje – ROTEM)
The subject monitoring and maintenance of critically ill’s vital functions covers the basic, as well as extended ways to control vital functions in critically ill humans and in patients in the perioperative period, where the knowledge and use are essential for optimal monitoring of patients in intensive therapy and perioperative period. 1. Cilji študijskih vsebin so usmerjeni v kritično presojo koristi in tveganja opreme za diagnostiko in terapijo v obravnavi nujnih stanj. Z razumevanjem delovanja medicinske opreme zmanjšujemo tveganja zaradi napak in povečujemo suvereno in natančno delo zdravstvenih delavcev.
Objectives of study content are focused on critical judgement of advantages and riskiness of medical diagnosic and therapy equipment in emergency care. Understanding of operation of medical equipment reduces the risk due to the errors and increases self-confidence and accuracy of medical workers.

Znanje in razumevanje: Znanje iz preprečevanja in zmanjševanja napak povezanih s tehnologijo. Prenesljive/ključne spretnosti in drugi atributi: Pripravljenost na situacije, kjer je veliko tveganje za bolnika povezano z biomedicinsko tehnologijo.
Knowledge and understanding: Students know how to prevent and reduce errors connected with the technlogy. Transferable/Key Skills and other attributes: Readiness for the situations in which a patient is exposed to risk connected with biomedical technology.

Metode poučevanja s podporo računalniških mikrosimulacij Simulacije na vajah v malih skupinah, uporaba simulatorjev bolnika, uporaba simulatorjev različnih aparatov in instrumentov. Uporabe realne medicinske opreme. Izdelava seminarskih nalog in študiji literature.
Teaching methods with the assistance of computer simulations. Simulations during tutorial in small groups, use of patients simulations, use of simulators of various apparatus and instruments. Use of real medical equipment. Seminar work and literature study.

Medicina v izrednih razmerah (disaster medicine) je nova veja medicine, ki se je razvila v zadnjih dveh desetletjih iz Disaster managementa in Emergency medicine v ZDA ob povečani nevarnosti mednarodnega terorizma in spremenjenega načina vojaškega delovanja. Ima splošni del (definicija medicinskega disastra, družbene krize, vojna, terorizem, množične nesreče), etični, socialni in psihološki vidiki disastra, javnozdravstveni vidiki na prehospitalnem in hospitalnem nivoju, specifična obravnava posebno ogroženih skupin prebivalstva (otroci, nosečnice, starostniki), načrtovanje in izvajanje medicine v izrednih razmerah na nivoju lokalne skupnosti, države in mednarodnih organizacij. V specialnem delu obravnava vojno kirurgijo (kirurgija omejevanja škode – damage control surgery), množične naravne nesreče, množične mirnodobne nesreče in nesreče ob terorističnih napadih. Disaster medicine developed in past 20 years from coupling of disaster management with emergency medicine. From the US army the principle of damage control surgery was spread around the world in field of war surgery and individual multiple injured patient treatment. The student is familiar with the principles of disaster medicine (definitions of medical disaster, complex emergencies, field surgery, terrorism, mass casualty incidents), ethical, social and psychological aspects of medical disaster, with manmade and natural disasters; special assessment is dedicated to specific groups of population (children, women, and elderly people) on prehospital and hospital level. In special part recent experiences from war surgery transmitted to multiple injured patient treatments with massive internal traumatic bleeding are presented with war surgical practicum. - principe triaže, reševanja problemov pri množičnih ranitvah, z veščinami ATLS, principov damage control kirurgije,
- organizacije zdravstva v izrednih razmerah in z javno-zdravstvenimi vidiki medicine v izrednih razmerah.
Students will gain knowledge of: Principles of disaster managemente, emergency medicine, mass casualties in manmade and natural disasters, military surgery with principles of damage control surgery, skills of ATLS, organization of field hospitals and major health problems in complex social emergencies.

Spoznati osnovne mehanizme delovanja in učinke zdravil/strupov, vpliv zdravil/strupov na človeški organizem in vpliv človeškega organizma na zdravila/strupe. Pridobiti pregledno znanje o skupinah zdravil v nujnih stanjih. Pridobiti pregledno znanje o farmakološkem ukrepanju ob zastrupitvah (z zdravili). Pridobiti veščine o farmakoloških ukrepih v nujnih stanjih. Pridobiti znanje o skrbi za varnost pri dajanju zdravil.

Znanje in razumevanje: Znanje širšega strokovnega področja, v katerega sodi magistrska naloga in ožje znanje ter razumevanje pojmovnika, ki ga zajema tema magistrske naloge. Poudarek je na praktičnih znanjih in naprednejših metodologijah zajemanja, obdelovanja in prikazovanja podatkov.
Knowledge and Understanding: Knowledge of the broader professional field to which belongs the Master Thesis and special knowledge of the corresponding glossary. The emphasis is on the practical skills and relatively more advanced methodologies of collecting, processing and presenting data.

Objectives and competences:
Poglobljeno znanje o nujnih stanjih v kirurški intenzivni medicini, njihovem prepoznavanju in zdravljenju, obenem pa tudi učenje samostojnega raziskovalnega dela na tem področju, povezovanja pridobljenih rezultatov raziskovalnega dela s kliničnim potekom in prognozo nujnih stanj, kar bo lahko osnova za izboljšanje kliničnega dela in nadaljne raziskovanje tega področja.
To gain broad knowledge of emegrency situations in surgical intensive care, their recognition and treatments and to learn postgraduates of autonomous research in this area of emergency medicine, to link together research results with the clinical course and prognosis of emergency situations in internal medicine and surgery in order to provide the basic for further future studies of this area of medicine.

Študenti bodo pridobili znanje za prepoznavanje, pravilno ocenjevanje in ukrepanje v negi bolnika z bolečino in drugimi simptomi napredovale bolezni.
The students will acquire knowledge for recognition, assessment and proper management in the care for pain patient and patient with symptoms in palliative care.

Znanje in razumevanje: Prepoznavanje stanja bolečine in pravilno ukrepanje. Prepoznavanje in razumevanje procesa umiranja in zagotavljanje pravilne nege. Razumevanje vseh potreb bolnika v paliativni oskrbi.
Knowledge and understanding: Identification of pain state and proper management approach. Recognition and understanding of the process of dying and the knowledge of decision-making at the end of life. Understanding of all needs of the patient who needs palliative care.

Poudarjene bodo metode zgodnjega prepoznavanja, nujnega ukrepanja in zdravljenja v nujnih stanjih v interni medicini in kirurgiji, povezava med biotehnologijo in patofiziologijo/patomorfologijo pri najpomembnejših boleznih v interni medicini in kirurgiji kot so: 1. The programme will be focused on early recognition, emergency measures and treatments in internal medicine emergencies and surgical emergencies, links between biotechnology and pathophysiology / pathomorphology of individual emergency situations in internal medicine and surgery such as: 1. cardio-vascular diseases Arrhythmias (ventricular, atrial, conduction disturbances), acute heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, hypertensive crisis, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, cardiac tamponade
2. Endokrinološka nujna stanja Iztiritev sladkorne bolezni tipa 1 in 2 s hiperosmolarno komo in ketoacidozo ter hipoglikemijo, Hipertiroza in hipotiroza, isuficienca suprarenalne žleze 3. Gastroenterološka nujna stanja Akutna krvavitev iz prebavil, akutni pankreatitis, ciroza jeter z jetrno odpovedjo, akutna driska in bruhanje 4. Poglobljeno znanje o nujnih stanjih v interni medicini in kirurgiji, njihovem prepoznavanju in zdravljenju, obenem pa tudi učenje samostojnega raziskovalnega dela na tem področju, povezovanja pridobljenih rezultatov raziskovalnega dela s kliničnim potekom in prognozo nujnih stanj, kar bo lahko osnova za izboljšanje kliničnega dela in nadaljnje raziskovanje tega področja.
To gain broad knowledge of emegrency situations in internal medicine and surgery, their recognition and treatments and to learn postgraduates of autonomous research in this area of emergency medicine, to link together research results with the clinical course and prognosis of emergency situations in internal medicine and surgery in order to provide the basic for further future studies of this area of medicine.

- Povezava med biotehnologijo in patofiziologijo/patomorfologijo pri najpomembnejših stanjih v intenzivni medicini kot so: akutna respiracijska insuficienca, akutno srčno popuščanje, vključno s pljučnim edemom in kardiogenim šokom, akutni koronarni sindromi in infarkt srca tako z kot brez trajnega dviga veznice ST v EKG, različne oblike šoka (obstruktivni, septični, anafilaktični, itd.), hipertenzivna kriza, bradikardne in tahikardne motnje ritma, akutna masivna in submasivna pljučna embolija, akutna ledvična odpoved, hipoglikemija, hiperglikemija, metabolična

in respiracijska acidoza ter alkaloza, hiperkalemija in hipokalemija, hipotermija, akutne zastrupitve, nezavest, akutna krvavitev iz prebavne cevi, odpoved jeter, itd.
- Med metodami bodo v ospredju: anamneza in klinični pregled bolnika, nujne laboratorijske preiskave, elektrokardiografija, vstavitev arterijskih in venskih katetrov, metode merjenja sistemskega arterijskega tlaka, centralnega venskega, pljučnega arterijskega in zagozditvenega tlaka, oskrba dihalnih poti in osnove umetnega predihavanja, osnove ehokardiografije, nujne elektrostimulacije.
- Seznanitev z raziskovanjem in možnostmi samostojnega raziskovanja na področju nujnih internističnih stanj, povezovanje rezultatov, pridobljenih z različnimi biotehnološkimi metodami (laboratorijskih biomarkerjev, EKG zapisa, meritve arterijskih in venskih tlakov z intraarterijskim, intravenskim merjenjem, itd.) s pojavnostjo, epidemiologijo, patofiziologijo, patološko morfologijo in prognozo določenih nujnih internističnih stanj.

- Among methods the emphasis will be upon patients' history, clinical examination, emergency laboratory methods, electrocardiography, insertion of arterial, central venous catheters, measurements of systemic arterial, central venous, pulmonary artery and pulmonary wedge pressure, maintanace of airway and basic principles of mechanical ventilation, echocardiography, emergency electrostimulation.
- Aquaintance with research and the possibiliy of independent research in the field of emergency situations in medical intensive care will be ecourraged, as well as to correlate results gained by different biotechnological methods (laboratory markers, electrocardiography, blood pressure measurements, etc.) with epidemiological data, patophysiology, pathomorphology and prognosis of specific emergency states in medical intensive care.

Modul »Simulacija nujnih stanj« je namenjen simuliranju patofizioloških procesov pri boleznih, ki privedejo do nastanka nujnih stanj v travmatologiji, interni medicini, kirurgiji, pediatriji, ginekologiji in porodništvu, intenzivni medicini, anesteziologiji in v urgentni medicini v izrednih razmerah. Študent bo spoznal simulacijo patofizioloških dogajanj s klinično sliko urgentnih stanj in s smernicami za diagnostično in terapevtsko obravnavo ter zdravstveno nego urgentnega bolnika.
The aim of the modul „Simulation in emergency medicine“ is to simulate basic principles of clinical patophysiology in traumatology, surgery, internal medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, anaesthesiology and in emergency medicine in extraordinary situations. The student will get familiar with simulation of basis pathophysiology and clinical presentations in emergency medicine and critical care and also with principles of investigations treatment and nursing care.

Na osnovi informacij, pridobljenih vedenj in aktivnega opazovanja študent/-ka (v nadaljnjem besedilu študent) odkriva in prepoznava pojave in procese, povezane s socialno konstrukcijo realnosti, veščinami v medosebnih odnosih (zlasti komunikacijo), poravnavanjem s stresom, vezanim na posameznika, referenčne skupine, ki jim pripada, in (med)kulturne dinamike, v katere stopa. Na osnovi preučevanja literature, študija primerov in lastne aktivnosti opušča prakticistične koncepte v komunikaciji, osveži in nadgradi poznavanje dejavnikov, ki sooblikujejo komunikacijski prostor; nauči se kritično vrednotiti teoretične koncepte in raziskovalne podatke, povezane s psihologijo stresa in oblikovanjem stališč in predsodkov. Študent pozna delovanje samouresničujoče prerokbe in zna nadgraditi sodobne raziskovalne podatke s področja socializacije in motivacije s prenosom v uporabne koncepte razgovora s posebnimi skupinami oseb v kriznih situacijah. V obliki samostojnega študija, ob pripravi seminarske naloge ali projektne naloge (študija primera) spoznava strokovno literaturo področja. Predmet zagotovi pregled, analizo in razpravo o ključnih konceptih psihologije komunikacije in stresa. Učna enota prispeva k razvoju naslednjih splošnih in specifičnih kompetenc:

Based on the provided information, obtained knowledge and active (personal) observation, the student/s ( hereinafter referred to as the student ) detects and identifies phenomena and processes related to the social construction of reality, skills in interpersonal relationships (especially communication ) and coping with stress, related to an individual, their groups of reference and (inter) cultural dynamics. After the study of literature, case studies and their own activities the student will be able to omit implicit/practicistic concepts in communication; refreshes and upgrades knowledge of the factors interacting within the communication field; and learns to critically evaluate theoretical concepts and research data related to the psychology of stress, which form attitudes and prejudices. The student becomes acquainted with the operation of self-fulfilling prophecies and knows how to incorporate modern research information, with regard to socialization and motivation, into useful concepts of communication with specific groups of people in critical and life-threatening situations. In the process of independent work on the
preparation of coursework or project work (case
study) the student gets to know the body of
professional literature. This course will provide an
overview, analysis and discussion of the key
concepts of psychology, communication and stress.

Predavanja, seminarji, vaje, študije primerov, diskusije, individualni in skupinski projekti; individualne konzultacije s predavateljico - poleg predavanj in interaktivnih oblik (diskusije, paneli ipd.) bodo študentje samostojno pripravili seminar (projektno nalogo, študijo primera), se na virtualni način posvetovali ob pripravi samostojnih del in v interaktivnem učenju utrjevali sposobnost komuniciranja in veščine v medosebnih odnosih. Del obvezne literature bo predmet panel diskusij.
Lectures, seminars, tutorials, case studies, discussions, individual and group projects, individual consultations with the lecturer; apart from lectures and interactive work (discussions, panels, etc.), students will independently prepare a seminar (project work, case study) and will be given the opportunity for consultations during its preparation; during the process, interactive learning ability and communication skills will be strengthened. Content (Syllabusoutline):
Študentje se bodo naučili teoretičnih osnov najpomembnejših urgentnih stanj v otroški dobi, tako patofiziologije kot diagnostike in zdravljenja. Obvladali bodo praktična načela in pristop obravnave otrok v najpomembnejših urgentnih stanjih. Naučili se bodo ključnih veščin oživljanja novorojenca, dojenčka in večjega otroka in uporabe nujnih pripomočkov v urgentnih stanjih. Seznanili se bodo s triažo najhuje bolnih otrok in z načeli urgentnega dela na terenu in v okviru bolnišničnega zdravljenja.
Students will learn theoretical bases of most important emergency situations in childhood, pathophysiology as well as diagnostics and treatment. They are going to learn the practical principles and approach to treatment of children in most important emergency situations. In addition, students will get the key skills in resuscitation and basic life support of neonates, infants and older children as well as in usage of most important instruments in emergency situations. Finally, they will become acquainted with triage of most severely ill children and with principles of emergency work in primary and tertiary level.
