On August 1, 1958, the Knights of Columbus Supreme Office approved the establishment of a fraternal insurance system through then the Territorial Deputy, Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ Sixty-four (64) Filipino Knights and Councils donated P500 each totaling P32,000 to found the K of C Fraternal Benefits Association of the Phils., Inc. - a non-stock mutual benefits insurance society. Then on September 9, 1958, KC Fraternal was duly licensed by the Insurance Commission to operate as an insurance system for the exclusive protection of the Knights of Columbus and their immediate family members.
