What distinguishes Virco from the other furniture providers
competing for your business? In a word: value. Virco offers you
the industry’s best combination of style, sustainability, selection
and service for your money.
Long-standing partnerships with award-winning designers give
our furniture an elegant stylistic feel. Take a look at Virtuoso® by
Charles Perry, I.Q.® and Ph.D.® by Richard Holbrook, and ZUMA®,
ZUMAfrd™, Sage™, TEXT™ and Parameter™ by Peter Glass and Bob
Mills. All of these product lines achieve an optimum balance of
enduring visual flair and reliable, high-function performance.
Rather than relying on overseas supply chains, Virco molds all
soft plastic chair shells in our own domestic factories. Along
with better pricing and quality control, this lets us give you a
wider range of plastic colors – more than two dozen soft plastic
standard colors, and even more custom colors – with faster lead-
times than anyone else. And since we have in-house plating and
powder-coat painting capabilities, we can offer you a rainbow of
frame finish choices.
Virco products give you excellent ergonomic benefits. Because
ergonomics now plays a key role in many furniture purchasing
decisions, page 90 of this catalog features an essay that’s
dedicated to this subject.
Our GREENGUARD® certified product selection includes hundreds
of chairs, desks, tables and related furniture items for your
campus. Virco’s ZUMA and ZUMAfrd lines were the first furniture
collections to earn GREENGUARD for Children and Schools
program certification for indoor air quality (IAQ). We’re proud
of our pioneering IAQ certification, and we’re happy that other
furniture manufacturers are now working with GREENGUARD
through this program.
When it comes to LEED® certification, Virco furniture can help
you earn points through the LEED for Schools or LEED for New

Construction rating systems, either of which
can be used by colleges and universities with
building projects.
Along with GREENGUARD® certifi cation and LEED®
points, Virco’s commitment to sustainability
includes our company-wide recycling program
that’s reprocessed more than 305,000,000 pounds
of materials since 1989. Our Take-Back program
enables educational institutions to recycle furniture
that’s been removed from service rather than
sending tons of reusable materials to landfi lls.
Virco’s recycling achievements have been recognized on many
occasions, most notably in 2003, when the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency chose us as a
charter member of their WasteWise Hall of Fame.
Virco serves you with a nationwide sales force.
Your Virco representative would be happy to provide you with
product samples and CAD layouts. We also partner with a
nationwide network of experienced full-service dealers.
Over 1,000,000 square feet of domestic warehouse space
enables Virco to stock a wider selection of competitively priced
furniture and equipment items. Selected models in this catalog
have a Quick Ship lead-time of 10 business days or less; most
other models have a standard shipping lead-time of 10 to 20
business days.
Personal attention, more product choices and better availability;
that’s what Virco service is all about. And if you’re faced with
a large-scale furniture and equipment purchasing project, our
complimentary, stress-free PlanSCAPE® service provides cost-
saving, on-time product solutions that are right for your campus.
For your convenience, we also serve you with three levels
of product delivery, including special inside delivery and
installation. To ship your order to you on time, our large fl eet
of company-operated vehicles delivers Virco products
from coast to coast. You can even order Virco furniture and
equipment online through our E-commerce website using
your U.S. Communities contract pricing; see page 103 for
more information.
Value isn’t always easy to defi ne. Ultimately, questions of value
are determined by personal experience. That’s why we invite
you to visit either of our factory/showroom locations – in
Torrance, California or Conway, Arkansas – to get an inside look
at why Virco is the education furniture industry’s value leader.
You’ll tour our facilities, “test ride” our furniture, and meet a
variety of people who work behind the scenes on our products.

look forward to your visit!

Students have a lot on their minds. Whether they’re arriving on
campus for the first time, preparing for mid-terms, or finishing
their last year of classes, it seems like there’s always too much to
think about, too much to do.
Given their busy schedules, most students don’t sit around
and discuss furniture. But like everyone else, they do have
expectations about the furniture they use.
Comfort is clearly a priority. Nobody wants to fidget or
constantly shift positions because their chair doesn’t feel right.
In this sense, well-designed furniture ought to be functionally
transparent – not calling attention to itself through discomfort
or fatigue – but instead leaving students free to focus on the
task at hand.
When it comes to style, they’re looking for
exciting colors, interesting design lines,
and a coordinated feel that ties together
the furniture in a given space. Now
that’s sweet!
Furniture that supports laptop use is
important to students. Tables that
provide power and data plug-ins
are a real plus. And if work
surfaces are large enough
to handle a laptop and
a text book together,
that’s even better!
Many students would give a thumbs-up to product diversity.
Campuses everywhere have big people, smaller people, and lots
of others in between. Furniture that accommodates different
body types – like adjustable-height seating, tables and desks,
as well as chairs with different sized shells – is furniture which
acknowledges the fact that everyone’s not the same.
Some students would appreciate furniture that’s recognizably
Green. They’d like to know if products have been certified
for indoor air quality. Do they contain recyclable materials,
or recycled-content? And what can you do, they might ask,
with old furniture items that won’t be used anymore – besides
sending them to a landfill – once new products arrive to take
their place?
Virco supports these student expectations. Our designer
furniture lines – like Sage™, ZUMA®, TEXT™, Metaphor® and I.Q.® –
combine exciting colors and styling with effective ergonomic
support and great product diversity. And not only are the
models in these and other Virco lines GREENGUARD® certified
for indoor air quality, they’re also recyclable at the end of their
useful life through Virco’s pioneering Take-Back program.
Another thing about Virco furniture; it’s made to last. That might
not be the most pressing consideration for your students, but
we know it’s important to you.

Virtuoso®
Designed by sculptor Charles Perry, Virtuoso®
features a patented articulating back mechanism
that gently fl exes to accommodate your position
in the chair.
“The Virtuoso is a quiet chair,” said Perry.
“Unobtrusive; stately – if you will – not at all jazzy.
Virtuoso is intended to stay in the background and
quietly let the rest of the ambience blossom.”
Its tubular steel frame, buttressed by 7/16” solid
steel rods and two underseat cross braces, makes
Virtuoso more than tough enough for classrooms,
libraries, auditoriums, offi ces and other on-
campus settings.
Virtuoso’s plastic seat and back colors give you the
fl exibility to complement a broad spectrum
of interior environments. Upholstered

ZUMA®
The confl icting forces of education furniture have
been comfort, ergonomics, technology support
and style on one side, versus unremitting budget
pressures on the other. Everyone acknowledges
that technology has transformed our learning
environments. Most agree that students deserve
the same ergonomic considerations as workers,
for whom appropriate seating is often mandated
by law. The trade-off has typically been fi nancial:
supportive, stylish furniture often wasn’t aff ordable
within traditional budgets.
To say that ZUMA® balances these confl icts and
achieves a point of rest is a bold claim. There are
many such claims in the marketplace and most of
us are immune to them. Nevertheless, initial-year
sales fi gures for ZUMA models exceeded those of
any other new product line in Virco’s 60-
year history. And ever since, ZUMA has
continued to grow in popularity.

I.Q.®
Virco collaborated with internationally renowned
designer Richard Holbrook to develop the I.Q.®
furniture line. Grounded in Holbrook’s extensive
research and observation of college and university
classroom settings throughout the nation, I.Q.
was honored with a Best of NeoCon® Gold Award
at America’s most prestigious furniture trade
show. Unlike typical educational seating of past
generations, all I.Q. chair models feature a gentle
lumbar curve to more eff ectively support the
lower back. In addition, I.Q.’s concave shell design
more fully conforms to the human body’s natural
contours. With a waterfall front that’s
easier on your legs and a spacious
seat for a wider range of
movement in the chair, I.Q.
delivers sustained comfort.

ZUMAfrd ™
Proprietary chemistry, innovative mold design and
advanced process control enable ZUMAfrd™ to
transcend hard plastic’s long-standing limitations
to yield a new generation of compression-
molded furniture.
For decades, hard plastic furniture components
were restricted to simple linear designs due to the
limited fl ow characteristics of resin and wood-
particle blends. But with ZUMAfrd, Virco achieved
a breakthrough resulting in ergonomically
sculpted components with a diff erence you can
see and feel.
ZUMAfrd also has an environmental story. Thanks
to Virco’s exclusive Fortifi ed Recycled Wood™
hard plastic, ZUMAfrd items contains up to 70%
recycled material, depending on the model and

USING FORTIFIED RECYCLED WOOD™
By combining proprietary chemistry with innovative mold design and process control, ZUMAfrd™ – which
features seats, backs and work surfaces made from Virco’s exclusive Fortified Recycled Wood™ hard plastic –
yields a new generation of compression-molded furniture with the following attributes:
ZUMAfrd contains up to 70% recycled material, depending on the model and specifications.
ZUMAfrd is 98% fabricated, recycled, and assembled in our own U.S. factories, both of which meet
the highest standards of environmental compliance and social equity.
ZUMAfrd is also 98% recyclable at the end of its long service life – only the glides cannot
be easily recycled.
Once processed, components of Fortified Recycled Wood are virtually inert, allowing them to meet
the most stringent standards for flame resistance and low emissions. They’ve also enabled all ZUMAfrd
models to earn the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified Mark® as products that meet the stringent
indoor air quality standard established by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute for children and schools.

CLASSROOM TABLES AND DESKS
Tables for higher learning facilities can vary dramatically from department to
department. For instance, something that’s perfect in a chemistry lab would
be totally wrong in most other settings. Virco’s table choices are tailored to
the diverse requirements of your campus.
Technology-ready TEXT™ and Plateau® tables complement classrooms and
offi ces where computers are used. For science labs, Virco models with
epoxy resin, Chemsurf® laminate, and powder coat tops give you a variety of
alternatives in a range of price points.
Student desks, like tables, often diff er widely within a given school or college.
Virco’s focused desk off erings include models from our TEXT, ZUMA® and
Sigma® collections that have the styling and the work surface space for higher
learning venues.
Diff erences between tables, and between desks, can be signifi cant. With
Virco’s selection of functional, durable, well-designed products, you’ve got
everything you need to make the right decisions.
Along with the tables and desks shown in this section, Virco stocks an array
of café tops & bases (p. 61) and mobile tables (p. 63) for food service areas, as
well as multi-use premium lightweight Core-a-Gator® folding tables (p. 65).

TEXT™ TablesIt’s not always easy to fi nd products that balance price, performance
and style. Tables for higher education environments provide a good
illustration. Contract-level models with expensive components –
like wood-veneer tops and specially cast, anodized aluminum
feet – can certainly fulfi ll aesthetic expectations, but they’re often
disappointing when it comes to durability, functionality and
aff ordability. By contrast, commodity-priced furniture simply
doesn’t meet the standards of performance and styling required
by discerning educational institutions.
But now, there’s a new Virco® furniture line that gives colleges
and universities just what they’ve been looking for. TEXT™ gets
the message!
Designed by the award-winning team of Peter Glass and Bob Mills –
who’ve collaborated with Virco on many successful product lines –
TEXT tables combine elliptical legs, swooping yokes and arched
feet for contract-level elegance with heavy-gauge tubular steel and
proven Virco construction for extended product life. Intelligently
conceived features and accessories enable TEXT to deliver perfectly
balanced furniture solutions.

Plateau® TablesTechnology-ready Plateau® Series tables bring versatile furniture
support to your campus. Conceived by designer Peter Glass,
Plateau’s rectangular, round, half-round and oval tops are
complemented by an array of wire management and power/
communication accessories.
Plateau’s leg design consists of a steel column fitted with a PVC
wire chase to help you more easily manage cables. Legs readily
attach to table tops by means of a die-cast aluminum connector,
as illustrated on page 48.
For libraries and related settings, Plateau lets you gang multiple
tops together with shared legs. By joining table tops in this way,
Plateau creates more room for people to stretch their own legs
beneath the table.

Virco’s PVC plastic wire chase routes cables from Plateau’s optional wire management/modesty panel to the floor. Flexible runners along each side allow power and communication lines to be easily inserted and organized.
Threaded inserts anchored into the table top make it easy to correctly position and attach each leg.
Every set of four Plateau® legs includes an Allen wrench for quick connections to tops. The wrench stores neatly in the connector’s specially designed pocket.

With 20 top sizes, optional grommets and stylish, die-cast

surface widths range from 22” to 36” – while lengths start at 48”
and go up to 96” – it’s easy to fi nd two-person or four-person top

Larger Lunada models also make great conference tables that
comfortably accommodate six people.
For an extra aesthetic accent, Lunada tables come with attractively

Before purchasing furniture for your campus, it’s important to evaluate
the ergonomic aspects of the products you’re considering. Here are a few
tips that should be helpful.
Adjustable-height chairs provide ergonomically supportive seating that
works for students with a wide range of body sizes. In addition, a well
designed chair seat should be wide and deep enough to comfortably
support the thighs. It should also have rounded corners, smooth edges,
and a waterfall seat front to prevent unnecessary “edge pressure”.
When it’s not possible to provide adjustable-height seating in every
classroom, chairs with a variety of fixed seat heights will help to
accommodate the height range of your student population. For taller
and larger students, chairs with a more generously proportioned shell
and a larger, wider back offer enhanced support and longer-lasting
comfort.
For a chair to be effectively supportive, its back must be carefully
designed. Ideally, chair backs should be slightly reclined, tall and wide
enough to provide support, and have a transversely (side-to-
side) concave shape. Chairs with a one-piece seat and
back should have a gentle lumbar contour.
For chairs with a two-piece seat and
back, the contours of these
components should
comfortably encourage
good seating posture.
A Look at Furniture Ergonomics
Virco Inc.90
91Virco Inc.
Quality classroom tables and desks will have similar ergonomic
features. For instance, models with adjustable-height work
surfaces allow tops to be set at a level that’s comfortable for
students, whether they’re writing in notebooks or working on
computers. Tables and desks should offer adequate leg and thigh
clearance, allowing students to easily access their seats.
Work surfaces should be spacious enough to hold frequently used
materials; that’s especially significant where laptops and textbooks
are often used together. It’s also important that work surfaces be
finished with smooth, rounded edges.
On a more general note, all classroom furniture should have
excellent structural strength, durability and stability. This will
enable the furniture’s more specific ergonomic features to provide
long-lasting service.
These tips offer a broad outline of what to look for in ergonomically
supportive chairs and desks. Because individual applications may
vary – particularly when evaluating furniture needs for diverse
on-campus settings, such as seminar rooms, tech labs, lecture
halls, traditional classrooms, and libraries – you may want to
consult with an experienced furniture professional, such as a Virco
Representative, for more detailed information.
A Look at Furniture Ergonomics
Hundreds of Virco seating models, such as the Sage™ chair shown above, give you and your students the comfort and support of ergonomically contoured shells. Many Virco desks, including the ZUMA® model below, come with a generous work surface that easily accommodates a laptop and textbook.

Peter Glass graduated
with a degree in Applied
Art and Design from Cal
Poly San Luis Obispo
in 1978. After further
studies at the Art Center College
of Design in Pasadena, California, Glass went on to work with Don Chadwick and
Associates, Herman Miller, Inc., and others on a variety of successful furniture
projects. Glass is the designer of Virco’s Plateau® and Lunada® products; other
furniture lines that he and Bob Mills have developed for Virco include the ZUMA®,
ZUMAfrd™, Sage™, Metaphor®, Telos®, TEXT™ and Parameter™ collections. “Because
Virco competes in a market that’s driven by price and performance, our projects
focus on designing functionally elegant furniture,” said Glass. “It’s always
a stimulating challenge to optimize strength, support and durability
with the most effi cient use of materials.”
Bob Mills
Bob Mills brings a practical, results-oriented approach
to strategic product development. His 15 years of
experience with furniture design ranges from attorney

Richard Holbrook
Through extensive work with international clients,
Richard Holbrook approaches furniture design as
a balance of form and function. “The wonderful
thing about designing furniture,” said Holbrook,
“and especially seating, is that while a chair should
certainly possess a unique visual identity - a ‘style’
- chairs are fundamentally very practical, physical
products. With what other products do you have
so much actual contact? That’s why the shapes,
materials, finishes, movement and appearance
are inseparable elements of any chair design. If
all these aspects work together in balance and
harmony, a chair becomes more than just
a piece of ‘furniture’.” Fittingly, both
Holbrook’s I.Q.® and Ph.D.® Series seating
collections achieve this harmonious balance.
Charles Perry
Charles Perry’s initial career direction in architecture
eventually gave way to a life-long commitment to large-
scale public sculpture. Of approximately 85 monumental
sculptures around the world, Perry’s most prominent is
“Continuum,” located at the entrance to the National
Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Furniture
design is another of Perry’s vocations. His Virtuoso®
Series combines the convenience of a versatile, hard-
working stack chair with the comfort of a patented,
articulating back. “The Virtuoso is a ‘quiet’ chair,” said Perry,
“Unobtrusive; stately - if you will - not at all jazzy. Virtuoso
is intended to stay in the background and quietly let the
rest of the ambience blossom.”

Capabilities: What Virco Can Do for You!
Customer preferences for furniture and equipment have changed dramatically during Virco’s history. To keep pace with these
changes, Virco has developed the most comprehensive manufacturing, distribution and service capabilities in the classroom
furniture industry.
After beginning operations in 1950 with just one customer,
Virco has grown to become the leading maker and supplier of
furniture and equipment for K-12 schools. Over the years, we’ve
vertically integrated our manufacturing processes to ensure the
highest product quality and dependable on-time delivery. Unlike
manufacturers who closed their factories and moved operations
offshore in the late 1990s and subsequent years, we chose to
keep our domestic facilities intact.
Manufacturing and distribution operations are still going strong at our 560,000 square-foot Torrance, California location and
in Conway, Arkansas, where we have more than 1,750,000 sq. ft. of space. These state-of-the-art domestic facilities give Virco
customers advantages that other manufacturers simply can’t match.
For instance, we purchase our own steel coils, and then manufacture our own tubular steel and stamped steel components.
This enables Virco to produce these items more economically than manufacturers who buy pre-fabricated components at
higher prices from other sources. Moreover, making our own steel components enables Virco to exercise direct quality control
throughout the manufacturing process; manufacturers who use pre-fabricated components have to rely on their vendors to
maintain quality standards.
For customers, Virco’s in-house steel component operations translate into lower prices and higher, more reliable product quality.
Virco’s soft plastic and hard plastic manufacturing capabilities give you more great advantages. We mold all of our own soft
plastic chair shells and hard plastic seats, backs and work surfaces. Along with better pricing and quality control, in-house
molding lets us give you a wider range of plastic colors for school furniture products – up to 29 soft plastic and 23 hard plastic
colors, and even more custom colors – with faster lead-times than anyone else.
Virco’s distribution capabilities provide you with further benefits. Over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in
Conway and Torrance enable us to stock a wider selection of furniture and equipment items. For you, that
means Quick Ship (shipment in 10 business days or less) availability – not just for a handful of items in
a single color – but for 100s of models in multiple colors. And when you add our selection of standard
shipping lead-time items (20 business days or less) into the equation, 1000s of models in multiple colors
are ready for you to order. To get your order to you on time, our large fleet of company-operated
vehicles delivers Virco products from coast to coast.
With the classroom furniture industry’s only direct sales force, service is a Virco specialty.

Virco Stewardship: An Ongoing Commitment
In one sense, the Virco Stewardship initiative can trace its origins to February of 1950 when we begin working with America's
schools as a newly established company. Although terms like "sustainability" and "sustainable business practices" weren't
commonly used back then, they accurately describe the vision that inspired Virco's founder, Julian Virtue, to develop long-
lasting classroom furniture. As a result, Virco has grown from a small southern California business with a single customer into
one of the country's largest manufacturers of furniture for the K-12, college and university, and higher learning markets.
Another pivotal year in our Stewardship initiative’s history was 1989. That’s when our manufacturing facility in
Conway, Arkansas, started its recycling and resource recovery program. Beginning with hydraulic oil, office
paper and scrap metal, Virco’s corporate-wide recycling efforts now include more than 40 items, ranging from
plastics and wood dust to cell phones and computer hardware. Over the years, we’ve recycled more than
305,000,000 pounds of materials, and we’re still looking for new ways to remove even more items from our
waste stream.
The success of our recycling activities led to the development of Virco’s “Cash for
Cardboard” program in 1993. Through this community service initiative, we
recycle cardboard for 35 schools in 7 districts near our Conway facility; we
also build recycling bins for the schools to collect their cardboard. After
Virco picks up their cardboard for processing, the proceeds are returned to
the schools; to date, we’ve helped these schools earn more than $100,000
through recycling.
In 1994, we took another step forward by becoming a partner in the US Environmental
Protection Agency’s WasteWise Program, which was founded to help businesses,
government agencies and other organizations throughout the country
evaluate and attain their recycling goals; for instance, by providing
a Climate Profile, which informatively illustrates the recycling
accomplishments of WasteWise partners. Nine years later, in 2003,
our partnership entered a new phase when Virco was selected as
one of three charter members of the WasteWise Hall of Fame.
Virco’s commitment to sustainability through recycling is mirrored in our recent new
product introductions. Leading-edge furniture lines such as ZUMA®, ZUMAfrd™ and I.Q.® have
received five coveted Best of NeoCon® Awards at America’s premier contract furniture trade show.
We’re continually looking for new ways to incorporate sustainable design elements – including recycled
and recyclable materials, ergonomic benefits and superior service life – into Virco furniture for schools,
colleges, and other environments. In fact, our Telos® and ZUMAfrd collections feature components made from
flame-proof, colorfast, scratch-resistant – and environmentally responsible – Fortified Recycled Wood™.
In 2005, ZUMA and ZUMAfrd became the first classroom furniture product lines from any manufacturer
to earn GREENGUARD® indoor air quality certification through the GREENGUARD for Children and
Schools program. And thanks to subsequent collaboration between Virco and GREENGUARD,
hundreds of additional Virco classroom furniture models have earned this important certification.
We’re proud to offer you these low-emitting products – identified in this catalog with Virco’s
GREENGUARD certified logo – and we’re delighted that other classroom furniture manufacturers have
also begun working with GREENGUARD.
103Virco Inc.
If you’re involved with a school construction project that’s working to achieve CHPS certification,
you’ll be happy to know that Virco’s GREENGUARD® certified products for schools are listed on
the CHPS Low-Emitting Materials Table. And if you’re part of a project team that’s targeting
LEED® certification for a new or renovated facility, Virco products can help you earn LEED points.
In 2006, Virco introduced the classroom furniture industry’s first Take-Back program, which gives schools the ability to recycle
furniture that’s been withdrawn from service rather than sending it to a landfill. Through our Take-Back program, Virco accepts
plastic chair shells, laminated wood work surfaces and compression-molded hard plastic seats, backs and work surfaces –
regardless of manufacturer – for recycling from qualifying schools, districts, colleges and universities. We can also help them
find local metal recyclers to dispose of steel frames from furniture that’s no longer in use.
We at Virco started our Take-Back program because the vast majority of recyclers won’t accept plastic
chair shells, laminated work surfaces and compression-molded hard plastic components. Take-Back
provides educational institutions with a unique way to recycle these items, resulting in greater resource
conservation and a decreased strain on our nation’s landfills. And because Virco strongly encourages
student participation in a Take-Back project whenever possible, the program offers great learning
opportunities for students to grow in their appreciation of recycling’s value.
Take-Back has another great aspect. Because items retrieved through the program can be introduced into the Fortified
Recycled Wood™ ingredient mix for Telos® and ZUMAfrd™ products, these models can help to “close the loop” by utilizing post-
consumer recycled materials from schools that would otherwise be discarded.
Virco’s partnership with Palmyra Area High School in Pennsylvania proved to be a remarkably successful Take-Back project.
The first stage of this project, which took place during the school’s 2006 winter break, involved 59 volunteer students, four
high school staff members, two district maintenance employees, school principal Dr. Kelly Harbaugh, and the local Virco

representative. The group disassembled
furniture from 16 classrooms – including
approximately 500 chairs and desks, and 32
tables – in 100 minutes. Scrap metal alone
from this phase weighed more than 6.5 tons.
The second stage, completed in August 2007,
achieved similarly impressive results.
Along with Palmyra Area High School, the
following institutions have also partnered
with Virco on successful Take-Back projects:
The City College of San Francisco San Francisco, CA
Betsy Layne High School Betsy Layne, KY
Franklin County Career & Technology Center Chambersburg, PA
Shippensburg Area School District Shippensburg, PA
Kent School District Kent, WA
Boulder Valley School District Bolder, CO
Along with our sustainable product development and recycling projects, Virco supports
important professional organizations for educators through our Stewardship initiative.
This includes Virco’s sponsorship of the State and National Assistant Principal of the Year
Program for the National Association of Secondary School Principals: our funding of the
National Principals Resource Center’s Speakers Bureau for the National Association of
Elementary School Principals; and our sponsorship of the Pinnacle Awards Program for
the Association of School Business Officials International.
If this overview of Virco’s Stewardship initiative has peaked your interest, go to
www.virco.com and click on the Corporate Stewardship link. For us, Virco Stewardship
is all about giving something back to the customers and communities that have
contributed to our success. It’s also about moving forward to help build a mutually
sustainable future.

Care & Use InstructionsNOTICE: To prevent structural failures and possible injury, furniture should not be used other than for its intended purpose and should be inspected regularly for loose or missing screws or rivets, metal fatigue, cracks, broken welds, missing attachments, loose staples, and general instability. Furniture that is damaged or appears to be unstable should immediately be removed from service, reported to the facility manager, and replaced or repaired. Repairs should only be made using factory-authorized parts and methods. For information on furniture maintenance, or to report furniture which requires service, call Virco toll-free at 1-800-448-4726. Furniture should be wiped down with mild soap and water as needed.
Guidelines for Stacking & Moving FurnitureThe number of pieces of furniture that can be safely stacked or moved on Virco’s mobile storage equipment will vary depending on many factors, including the furniture’s height, weight and general design; the speed at which the unit will be moved; the terrain over which it will travel; and the strength of the operator(s). Care should be taken not stack to the point of unsteadiness. Virco recommends starting with small, easily handled loads and adding one to two pieces of furniture at a time to determine the safe capacity for each set of conditions. Use Virco mobile storage equipment with appropriate Virco furniture only.
