Discussion

A limitations of this study is the

low numbers in participants we

had.

With a higher number of

participants, the difference in

body language interpretation

between genders would have

been seen more clearly.

This experiment could have

been better conducted by having

a larger number of participants

following the same procedure

Conclusion

• Men's awareness of women's

sexual interest has been well

researched, both within the

context of individual-

differences. As well of gender

differences context related to

sexual interpretation and

friendship.

• Our results shows that men are

likely to perceive and related

women body as being flirty and

to show interest in the intention

is not to do so. Although we did

have a few participants there

was a slight difference.

Participants

40 participants were selected

from a pool of undergraduate

students taking a lower division

Psychology course at CSUN.

Restriction was placed on

Students who didn't’t fully

complete the survey

Participants age ranged from 18

to 25

Part 2

Video 2 with audio-free was

shown after all survey 1’s were

were collected.

After video ended,, survey 2

was passed out to each

participant with the same

repeated instructions as part 1.

All completed surveys were

then collected, and participants

were dismissed with a debriefing.

Surveys 1 and 2 had the same

questions in the same following

order.

Procedures & Measures

Part 1

The experiment was split

between two groups (Men and

Women). Each group received

two surveys based on two video

clips that they viewed and was

asked to answer all questions as

accurate as possibly.

Video 1 was audio-free. After the

video, survey was passed out &

collected when participants were

finished with the questionaries'

Background

Communication is important in

order to convey any idea or

information, besides verbal

communication, a major form of

interacting is through body

language.

Being able to read body language

is important in order to have a

successful communication.

What people do not realize is that

males and females interpret body

language differently causing a

misreading of the situation

Purpose

To test whether the interpretation

of body language differ for men

and women

It was predicted that men observe

the women as being interested in

the partner and women observe

the women actor as just showing

signs of kindness and answer that

the women show no uninterested

in the partner.

Summary of Results

In order to test if the interpretation

of body language differ for men

and women an independent sample

t-test was used.

The results shown indicate that

there is small significant

difference between gender.

The results shown indicate that

there is a slight significant

difference between gender,

females (M= 4.556, SD=.216,

and males M=5.144, SD= .245,

P>.05

Proposed Hypotheses

Women's kindness is often

mistaken by the men as a sign of

interest.

Look how she moved her hair…
