Don was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Sioux City, the son of William and Nellie (Sparby) Doyle. He graduated mid-term from Central High School. He then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Chinese-Burma Theater during World War II. He atlended Colorado A.&.M. in Fort Collins, Colo., and Col­orado University, where he stud­ied engineering. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska, his law degree from the University of South Dakota and his juris doctorate from Morningside College. He later attended the University of Iowa, where he studied nlf.lear science.

He married Janet "Jan" Holtz on Aug. 9, 1963, in a small town in Minnesota. In addition to being a Sioux City attorney for more than five de<:ades, he was a Democratic Party member who spell! nine tenns (18 years) in the Iowa House through 1980. He had an additional four tenns (12 years) in the Senate through 1992. His three decades of service were the most of any Iowa state lawmaker at that time and still is.

Sioux City died May 8, 2007. from injuries suffered in an auto­mobile accident.

Grace A. Quigley, 48, of Dakota Dunes died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at her residence due 10 complications from ALS. She had a gentle spiri t and beautiful smile. Aer courageous battle with ALS was inspiring 10 all who knew her. '?Ie are graleful and blessed that we had her in our life.

She enjoyed Hobie Cat racing and sailing. She also liked gar­dening, but she mostly loved taking care of her family and dedicated her life to doing just thaI.

Survivors include her hus­band; a son, Frank Quigley of Dakota Dunes; two daughters, Andrea Quigley of Cape May, N.J., and Nicole Quigley of New Jersey; her parents, An­thony and Rosalie Genovese of Cape May; three brothers and their wives, Mark and Dawna Genovese of North Cape May, Joe and Mary of Fanningdale, N.J., and Anthony and Kim of Ellicot City. N.J.; a sister and her husband, Angela and Den· nis of Dennis Township, N.J.; many nieces. nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; her mother· in-law, Patricia D'Euslachio of Hainesport, N.J.; two sisters-in­law and their husbands, Kalh· leen and Michael Loftus of Jacksonville, N.J .. and Colleen and Joseph Reader of Haines­port, N.J.; and a brotber-in·law and his wife.
