Take the first half of class and finish your pre-write for tomorrow.
Please ask for help if you need it.
If you finished it Friday go through it again, ask a partner to look it over and critique it.
Turn in your Pre-Write before the end of class.
Verbs – Notes Section
Verb – a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence. such as hear, become, happen.
Action Verb - describes an act or activity. Examples of action verb are 'gurgle' and 'giggle,' words which describe activities.
Linking Verb - The definition of a linking verb is a grammar term for a verb that connects a subject with a noun or adjective that is the subject. An example of a linking verb is "are" in the sentence, "They are cold."
Helping Verb - Helping verbs are verbs that, as their name suggests, help the main verb in a sentence by extending the meaning of the verb. They add detail to how time is conveyed in a sentence.
