平地催花極度耗能
以位於宜蘭的金車生物科技公司為例, 1600坪的催花溫室分為 8 間,每間 200坪配備 8台 10噸的氣冷式空調系統。
由於氣候變遷,夏季高溫往上攀升的紀錄也屢屢出現,夏季要催花溫室內維持 25/20 的日夜溫的降溫負荷也愈來愈高,於是所需單位面積所需冷凍噸數也往上增加。

有人建議,白天利用水牆降低雙層塑膠布之間夾層內 (1) 空氣溫度,可降低蘭花栽培空間內 (2) 的熱負荷

夾層內通風與否會影響夾層內空氣溫度,前述試驗顯示可相差 9~11度 C
不會影響夾層下方空間的空氣溫度

每分鐘一個同溫室體積 (1 AC/min) 的溫室通風設計通則的
侷限性 1 AC/min (8 cfm/ft2 floor area) 通則不適用於所有溫室 1 AC/min 通則只適用於 8 呎高溫室 不能認為 8 AC/min 可以適用於 1 呎高溫室 前述實驗發現,在 307 W/m2 輻射量之下, 1 呎高溫室需要的
通風量尚且高於 30 AC/min
太陽輻射量 307 W/m2可視為進入溫室內有 600 W/m2 其中約 50% 用於蒸發溫室內水分,其餘
ㄧ半用於加熱室內空氣,使溫度提高

前述設計的第一個缺點
風扇與水簾降溫系統沒有被正確使用熱負荷大,冷氣使用時段長
正確作法: 水牆在室內隔間之外,水牆不要開 水牆在室內隔間之內,冷氣不開時仍可利用水牆風扇降溫

前述設計的第二個缺點
溫室內濕度過低,室內還需另外加濕,有人建議在溫室地面灑水 冷卻能力被拿來除濕,又再加濕,雙重浪費 原因:使用錯誤的冷排
正確作法:改用類似蔬果冷藏庫使用的高濕型冷排以大風量取代空氣通過熱交換器 ( 冷排 ) 的大溫差冷排內冷水溫度與室內設定溫度與溼度狀況下之露點溫度相差不宜超過 5 度 C.

光量不足,花朵壽命短 原因:
外層表面有水分冷凝 ( 結露 ) ,容易長青苔,造成光線穿透率降低
有人說,就算有水分凝結,使用照度計量測,相差不多,所以影響不大
回答:水分冷凝 ( 結露 ) 造成光線穿透率大幅降低,尤其以紅光減少最多。使用照度計 (photometer) 無法正確量測

要允許紫外線通過,因為紫外線涉及花青素的形成,與花色鮮豔度息息相關。或許這就是山上催花花色較佳的主因。
如果資材本身擋紫外線,補光時可考慮使用也會產生紫外線的燈具

水冷式比氣冷式省電應該使用大風量高濕型冷排冰水溫度不宜太低 , 5~10度水溫可減少過份除濕 .
