A vision towards a universal light
Premium Lighting’s journey from an upstart Australian lighting brand to a global lighting brand has taken an enormous leap forward with Unios™; a new brand strategy for our business. Unios™ is a distillation of our vision for restoring balance in design, performance and accessibility to a fast evolving industry. We call it universal light. With Unios™, there are two central pillars to our methodology in developing architectural luminaires – universality and transparent value. We define universality as luminaires with the scope and versatility to meet the demands of any application. Our luminaires aim to excel across many different types of residential and commercial applications. It is a central criteria in our design process.
We have built on a detailed understanding of the manufacturing process to allow us to maximise value for our customers without compromising in quality. We are genuine about providing design- led and performance driven luminaires to a wider audience. It is an audience that previously only had the option of low-cost and unreliable lighting solutions or excessive opulence.
This changing marketplace calls for new ways of thinking about how we design and manufacture luminaires. We are standing at the forefront of this change, building on a strong foundation in design and manufacturing pedigree to make quality luminaires more accessible than ever. It is a future defined by a universal light – a light for all.
The lighting industry has witnessed significant changes in the past six years since our foray into manufacturing LED luminaires began. The industry has continued to reinvent itself in recent years as it adopts continual advances in LED technology and manufacturing techniques. Where LED luminaires were the sole domain of high end brands in the past, smaller brands entered the market at increasingly lower price points.
What we believe was missing in the marketplace was a universally accessible brand that lived at the intersection of design, and performance. Our vision at the beginning of our journey, now and in the future will always be one of balancing refined design, precise performance and transparent value. Unios™ is the encapsulation of our uncompromising direction towards a more transparent and balanced future in the lighting industry.

Multi-functional and flexible by nature, this adjustable downlight allows for a number of different uses to create different compositions. With 350° of rotation and 90° of tilt, the Kinetic Downlight can achieve a combination of diffused and spotlighting effects in any architectural application. This adjustability compacted into a unique minimal design makes this luminaire an ideal fit for hotels, showrooms and residential applications.
The Shift family of downlights is distinguished by two variations – Shift In and Shift Out. Shift In presents a recessed aesthetic with a shorter cylinder whilst the Shift Out presents a longer cylinder extruding from the ceiling. Both the Shift In and Shift Out can be tilted 30° for flexibility in orientation. Black, white or gold trim options bring a sophisticated finishing touch to an already comprehensive downlight family.
The Switch Downlight Series was designed as a shape shifting downlight that can switch modes from a sleek semi-recessed downlight to an adjustable downlight for spotlighting. This equally versatile and highly functional downlight will meet the diverse and rigorous lighting requirements of architectural projects. A textured white or black finish with a black inner baffle can coordinate with any design scheme.

The classic trimless, concave design of the Titanium Downlight has been reimagined. A redesigned reflector and new generation of LED chip brings sharper beams and class-leading lumen efficacy to an already refined downlight range. This next generation of the Titanium Downlight Series represents the next step in precise performance and discerning design.
Translated to mean "my light" in Hebrew, the Ori Wall Light exudes individuality with its orb- like design that casts a uniquely sharp beam in one, two or three directions. The pronounced beam is achieved through a precisely engineered glass lens system that maximises and defines the light output. 07 The big brother of the Orbit, the Orbit Plus Wall Light combines the soft ring of light from its sibling with an orb of indirect back lighting. In application, the Orbit Plus Wall Light is the perfect complement to the Orbit as a larger surface mounted version of its recessed smaller brother.
The Akira Ceiling Light creates an effortless sheet of even light, housed inside a slimline profile. 09 A classic form meets our minimalist design aesthetic in the Kepler Series. Dark bronze, notched dials and gentle curves help bring to life a reimagined classic. This dark bronze range is available as a fixed one or two way wall light, spike light or spotlight. Durable and powerful, this robust yet compact spotlight can be submerged in water to a depth up to 5 metres because of its IP68 rating. Every component and part has been rigorously tested for optimum performance even in the harshest conditions, whether it is installed underwater or above ground. The clear lens can be paired with a honeycomb lens to reduce glare and maximise performance.
A layered molded trim surrounds an even panel of diffused light for a discrete yet striking ceiling light design. This ceiling light is available in either a compact 250mm size or a larger 370mm size. Colour continues to be a key discussion point in the lighting industry. It is a subject that continues to evolve and change, with the primary metric of measuring colour accuracy – the Colour Rendering Index – being a significant point of discussion.
CRI is measured on a scale of 1 — 100, which indicates how accurately a light source renders colours in comparison to a natural light source (which has a CRI of 100).
However, two LED luminaires with a CRI of 92+ do not necessarily have the same colour rendering properties. The differences lie in how CRI is measured. An LED
luminaire’s CRI is calculated by measuring CRI ratings for individual colours, which are then averaged out. But most CRI calculations only factor in a limited spectrum of colours — R1 to R8 (see diagram to the right).
Colours such as red (R9) and skin tone (R13) that are everywhere in our daily lives are not factored. By not factoring in R9 and R13 into the calculation of a luminaire’s CRI, a luminaire’s high CRI number can be misleading.
Reds can appear dull and skin tones can appear pale in luminaires with low values for R9 and R13. For supermarkets, showrooms, museums and art
galleries – high values of R9 and R13 are paramount. Lighting manufacturers often do not communicate how their luminaires perform across the spectrum.
The 97+ Series renders vivid colours across the entire spectrum with a CRI of 97+. These new flagship CRI 97+ luminaires have a typical value of 90 for R9 (red), which will make reds appear vivid and skin tones more accurate — pushing colour accuracy in LED luminaires to new levels.
The 97+ Series is available with the Titanium, Axis and Kobe Series or can be custom configured to other luminaires in our range for projects.

In certain applications such as hotels and restaurants, a warmer atmosphere and ambience is desired. Previously, the only option to achieve this was through traditional halogen lamps. With the Dusk Series sunset dimming technology, this ambience can be achieved with state-of-the-art LEDs whilst reaping all the energy saving and performance benefits of LED technology.
Compared to traditional halogen and incandescent lamps, the Dusk Series uses up to 90% less power. With a lifetime of up
to 70,000 hours (at L70), this downlight series is unmatched in performance and energy savings.
Undimmed, this downlight produces a beautiful warm white (3,000 Kelvin) and can be smoothly dimmed down to an extra warm white (2,000 Kelvin). From warm white dimmed down to extra warm white, an impressive colour rendering index (Ra, CRI) of greater than 90 is achieved. This means an extremely high accuracy of colour is maintained even when dimmed down to the warmest of colour temperatures.
The dimming from 3,000K to 2,000K is effortlessly smooth and with a LED phase-cut dimmer or lighting automation systems such as DALI.
To meet the bespoke design and performance requirements of hotels and hospitality projects, the Dusk Series is available in textured black or white finishes for the Titanium Downlight and also an anodised aluminium finish for the Apex Downlight.
In addition to a spectrum of finishes, the range is available with a number of accessories that can enhance both design and
performance. For applications where limited ceiling space is a consideration, the Dusk Series can be surface mounted with a canister to reduce installation complexity and offer design flexibility. Reduce glare with a range of lenses including honey comb and frosted variations.
The pronounced impact effective lighting can have on mood and ambience is undeniable. The Dusk pairs the newest innovations in LED technology with dimming that can shape the atmosphere of any project.

For hotels in the morning, a brighter 3000K colour temperature allows for practical task lighting to start the day off.
During the day, the colour temperature can be adjusted to a warmer 2700K for an inviting but still bright ambience.
At the end of the night, the colour temperature can be dimmed down to a warm 2000K for a softer and more comfortable atmosphere.

The Dusk Series delivers class-leading colour quality with a CRI of 90 that is unmatched in this type of colour tuning technology.
The CRI of a luminaire describes how naturally a source of light displays a set of different test colours. It is a measure of a light source’s ability to replicate true colours. With the onset of LED technology that allows colour tuning, not all types of this technology are developed the same to produce excellent colour rendering.
With extensive research and development, we made brilliant colour rendering a key criteria to our implementation of colour tuning technology. With this higher CRI, our Dusk Series is able to replicate the quality of colour that natural daylight represents. The Switch Downlight Series was designed as a shape shifting downlight that can switch modes from a sleek semi-recessed downlight to an adjustable downlight for spotlighting. This equally versatile and highly functional downlight will meet the diverse and rigorous lighting requirements of architectural projects. Shift DOWNLIGHT SERIES
The Shift family of downlights is distinguished by two variations – Shift In and Shift Out. Shift In presents a recessed aesthetic with a shorter cylinder whilst the Shift Out presents a longer cylinder extruding from the ceiling. Both the Shift In and Shift Out can be tilted 30° for flexibility in orientation. Black or gold trim options bring a sophisticated finishing touch to an already comprehensive downlight family.
