DOWNHOLE TELEMETRY SYSTEMS
Borets SPT and ViewPoint series downhole telemetry systems are designed to monitor electric submersible pumps (ESPs), progressive cavity pumps (PCPs), beam pumps, hydraulic jet pumps and gas-lift systems. Cap-tured information allows not only for extending equipment performance, but also for optimizing production and maximizing ultimate reservoir recovery. Featuring state-of-the-art components, the downhole telemetry systems are manufactured to stringent standards and have been qualified for reliable performance in the harsh environ-ments confronted by today’s O&G industry.
Borets sensors are subjected to rigorous testing under cyclic temperature and pressure conditions, combined with further environmental, shock, and vibration testing. These extensive testing and calibration standards ensure that each and every system sent to a well site can be run with confidence.
The downhole telemetry system comprises a downhole sensor and a surface telemetry unit. The downhole sensor is mounted on a submersible motor and monitors the following parameters:
• Pump Intake Pressure,• Discharge Pressure (Upon Customer Request),• Winding Temperature at the Motor Bottom,• Winding Temperature at the Top of Motor Lower Tandem Section,• Pump Intake Temperature,• Pump Discharge Temperature,• Motor Vibration,• Current Leakage in the Following Circuit: 3-phase Oil Transformer for Submersible Pumps – High-Voltage
Cable – Submersible Motor – Downhole Sensor
The surface interface unit receives information from the downhole sensor and transmits it to a Switchboard or VFD controller. The controller is designed to display, store and transmit the received data to SCADA, to maintain the specified operational conditions and provide protection for the downhole system.
