Attendance

Be on time and ready to work, and at stretch by 7:45 AM daily. If you’re late for stretch, you will not work that day. You can try again

tomorrow.

All crews off the lot 10 minutes after stretch ends. There are no exceptions.

2 no call/no show is a voluntary resignation.

You must call supervisor ASAP if you are going to be absent OR late.

Time off requests require 2 weeks advance notice

These forms are located in the crew room

Some weekends and Saturdays will be required throughout the season. You will know ahead of time.

Plan on Saturday work when rain during the week

Snow duty is considered mandatory

UniformsOn your first day, you will receive temporary uniforms of 3 polo shirts and 1 hoodie. The deduction for these items will be taken from your first check.

During your first week, it is important that we order your permanent uniforms. See your supervisor for details. We use Clean Company uniforms.

13 pants, 13 shirts & 2 jackets will be given to you at a time.

You will pay for your uniforms via payroll deduction (approximately $16.00/wk).

Clean Company will do your laundry if you turn in your uniforms to the bin on Thursday mornings. Otherwise you are responsible to wash them.

You are responsible for any lost or negligently damaged items. “Normal wear & tear” is covered in the weekly rental.

All employees are expected to arrive each day properly attired in company uniforms. That includes shoes tied, hats forward, and shirts tucked in.

Cell Phones & Company Issued Items

PHONESCrew Leaders may be issued Dowco cell phones, chargers and cases. Once issued, these phones are considered part of Dowco uniform, and need to be present and charged during working hours. Your phone is expected to be used for business purposes only, and you will be

responsible for any data overages due to personal use You are responsible for any lost or negligently damaged items. Normal wear & tear

items will be replaced at company cost.

Personal cell phone usage should be limited to breaks and lunch, and should not interfere with work duties.

SAFETY Goggles & hearing protection – Your first pair is issued to you for free on your first

day. If you need a replacement due to normal wear and tear, show your supervisor the

old pair and we will issue new ones at no charge. However if you lose them, they cost $2.50/pair.

Lunch, Breaks, Time at Shop

Once you work over 5 hours per day you are entitled to a half hour lunch break. This time includes the time needed to drive to and from your selected lunch location.

Additional periodic breaks will be taken at the direction of your supervisor and/or crew leader.

You will get 15 minutes after your crew arrives back at the shop in the evening. This time is to be spent fueling, unloading, loading, and preparing for the next days’ work.

Any additional time needed at the shop to unload or wash equipment will be granted at the discretion of your supervisor.

Accident/InjuriesWe hope that you put safety first, but accidents do happen. If you are involved in a vehicle accident, you must

report it to the office immediately & call police. If you are involved in a equipment related accident or

injury, you must report incident to your supervisor within the same day of the accident. Severe accidents should be immediate.

Dowco reserves to right to drug test each individual involved in any accident.

Drug and Alcohol PolicyDowco is a drug free work place!

You’ve already passed a pre-employment drug screen along with the rest of your peers.

After any accident, there will be a mandatory drug and alcohol test for each individual involved.

After any incident or when there is reasonable suspicion that an employee is under the influence, Dowco can use discretion to choose to test for drug or alcohol.

Always remember that Dowco has the right to search our equipment or any equipment or personal item on Dowco property.

Cigarette Smoking Policy

Smoking is harmful to your health and harmful to the health of others around you. We believe it looks unprofessional to our clients. Please adhere to the following smoking rules:

NO smoking on Dowco property NO smoking in/on Dowco equipment NO smoking on a client’s property Smoke breaks may be taken during lunch. The

only acceptable place to smoke is in street prior to/after job. Discard trash appropriately- not on street or in the bed of our trucks.

Harassment Policy

No acts of harassment will be tolerated. Harassment includes slurs, insults, jokes, or other acts of conduct or mannerisms that harass or intimidate individuals based on their race, religion, national origin, color, gender, age, disability, or veteran status.

PAY DAY! A regular work week is from Monday to Sunday. Pay checks are distributed every other Friday. They are available to pick up after 10:00

AM. They will be located on top of the time clock. You will receive overtime pay for any hours worked after 40 hours of work. If you have a discrepancy on any of your paychecks, please see the owners of the

company immediately.

Paycheck Deductions may include the following: Taxes Child Support Uniform expense

Damage to or replacement of Clean uniforms Lost or damaged equipment

i.e. Phone, charger, snips, goggles, etc. Cell Phone Charges

Additional Benefits

Vacation

1 week of vacation is given after 1 year of employment.

2 weeks of vacation is given after 2 years of employment

Holidays

6 paid holidays are given after 1 year of employment

New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Referral Bonuses

We reward employees who help us bring good people to Dowco! See your supervisor for referral bonus details.

Retirement

Individual IRA w/company matching contribution. Eligible after 1 year of employment. Dowco will match 100% of your contribution up to 3% of your compensation per year, based on the yearly defined matching percentage. There are several funds to choose from and the owners of Dowco can provide you with more information.
