Double A is made up of 100% virgin wood fiber from environmentally sustainable sources. 90% virgin fiber is sourced from

its unique sustainable production of fiber known as Paper from Farmed Trees or the utilization of the vacant spaces around Thai farmer’s rice paddies as illustrated in the above photos.

- art production facility also minimises water consumption all throughout and also recy-cles the water during the pulp bleaching process. Double A operations only use 6-7 cubic meters of water per ton of pulp which is 90% less water than the industry standard.

BIOMASS ENERGY GENERATED FROM RESIDUAL WASTE

Double A biomass energy or renewable energy is used to power all the steam

and electricity requirements. Residual wastes such as bark, lignin, sludge, black liq-uor and all other wastes are used to produce biomass fuel for generating electricity at Double A’s own power plant. Using biomass from Double A Paper-Tree residual wastes help save 340 million liters of diesel oil every year, helping Thailand save 10 billion baht of import cost per year.

AIR

The foul smell produced during the boiling process is eliminated by immers-ing limestone in the recovery boiler. Likewise, Pulp Mill 2 uses a burning proc-ess called “Quench System” wherein the smoke is transformed into Methanol (a kind of fuel). In case the Quench System is not available, the company uses the “Flare System” as an alternative option. In addition, the “Electro Static Precipitator” (ESP) decimates 99% of the dust and provides efficient 24 hour operation.

NOISE The noise produced in the Wood Chip Plant (60 decibels) is lower than the normal rate set by the Industrial Ministry. With this, the site is said to be employee/community friendly.

RECYCLING SYSTEM FOR CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES During the production, reagents from the previous processes are recycled and reused in certain cases. Also Double A's Waste Recycling is 75% of its total waste generation.

Life Cycle Assessment study carried out by Double A verified and confirmed by internationally acclaimed third party independ-ent institutions Asian Institute (AIT) of Technology and Chulalongkorn University (CU) Thailand. Double A is operating in a carbon negative position through Double A Paper-Tree’s carbon storage of 7,500 kg CO2e per ton of paper or 6.7 million tons CO2e per year which contributes to the cooling of earth's temperature. Also in the process Double A Paper-Tree releases 4.9 million tons of oxygen per year.
