First Time Start Up Procedure

When first starting the DOT 200 Single Dispensing System, the following procedures are recommended:

CAUTION: DO NOT let any of the chemicals run dry or air will enter the system.

1. Check fuel and oil levels on the compressor.

NOTE: Weather temperature changes can make a difference in oil weight. Refer to compressor owner's manuals for specifications and regular service on power equipment.

2. Inspect the oil cups on the pumps. Inspect the oil lubricator on the frame. Fill with clean oil if levels are low.

3. Start the compressor. Let the air supply build-up until the compressor shuts off automatically.

4. Check the air supply gauge on the compressor. Main air pressure must be 80 to 100 psi.

5. Check all hose connections for tightness.

9. Slowly turn the "Iso" regulator, increasing air pressure, until the pump begins to cycle.

10. Once chemical starts to flow at the Y strainer, close the ball valve.

11. Adjust the "Iso" pump pressure to 40 psi.

12. Repeat procedures to bleed air out of the "Resin" pump. The air pressure on the "Resin" pump will determine the delivery rate of chemical to the dispensing valve. Adjust the "Resin" pump pressure from 40 to 80 psi to obtain your proper volume. For this start-up adjust the "Resin" pressure to 40 psi.

13. Open the chemical ball valves on the pumps.

14. Turn on the METER switch. This supplies control air to the meter and operates the directional control valve. The meter will now move when the dispensing valve trigger is pulled.

15. The metering system may have been shipped with oil, so point the dispensing valve into a waste bucket. Pull the dispensing valve trigger and move the oil out of the system. In total you will need to pump 2 to 3 gallons of chemical through the system to remove all of the oil.

16. After dispensing approximately one gallon, stop temporarily. Remove the two screws that hold the bleeder button bar and bleeder buttons to the meter. DO NOT disconnect the air hoses from the bleeder buttons. Lay the bleeder bar assembly away from the meter.

17. Remove air from cylinders as follows: a. Pull the dispensing valve trigger. The cylinder shaft will move to the left or

right. Let the cylinder shaft move all the way to the end of travel.

b. Allow the cylinder to stay at that end position until chemical has stopped flowing at the dispensing valve.

c. If the shaft is located at the right side of the meter, press and release the right bleeder button. If the shaft is located at the left side of the meter, press

and release the left bleeder button.

d. The cylinder shaft will move to the opposite side of the meter. Let the cylinder shaft move all the way to the end of travel.

e. Allow the cylinder to stay at that end position until chemical has stopped flowing at the dispensing valve.

f. Complete this procedure, in each direction, 5-6 times. Release the dispensing valve trigger as required during this operation. You will be moving the

cylinder pistons to the bottom (maximum distance) of their stroke. When the piston is bottomed, it forces any trapped air out of the meter.

18. Reassemble the bleeder button bar to the meter with the two retaining screws.

19. Continue to pump chemical until the 2 to 3 gallons have been metered through the meter. Release the dispensing valve trigger.

20. Install a mix tube on the dispensing valve and reinstall mix tube nut.

21. Adjust all pump pressures to run settings, i.e., "Resin" pump at 80 psi, "Iso" pump at 70 psi.

22. Pull the trigger to dispense chemical and check set time. The chemical will have a set time. Ensure the mix tube is not left with mixed chemical in it for a period of time long enough to allow chemical to set up.

23. If you plug the dispensing valve, remove the mix tube immediately. Test the dispensing valve without the mix tube on it to see if the dispensing valve is clear. If the dispensing valve is clear, install a new mix tube and continue. If the dispensing valve is plugged, disassemble and clean until you find the plugged area.

AddITIONAL INfORMATION:• dO NOT modify the chemicals with any other liquids.• dO expect to plug mix tubes. With experience the operator will be able to minimize

tube plugging.• The system must be operated at least twice weekly to prevent chemicals from

crystallizing inside the equipment.

Operation and Installation

The ON/OFF operation of the valve assembly is controlled by the movement of the piston inside the piston housing. In the OFF position (see Figure #1), the piston moves forward, and the fluid shafts seat into the O-rings located in the front seal body. In the ON position (see Figure #2), the piston retracts and the fluid shafts are pulled back which allows the "RESIN" & "ISO" chemicals to pass through the inlet body, the front seal body, the flush body, the liquid end cap, and the mixing tube.

dISpENSINg VALVE ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION1. Connect the RESIN and ISO supply hoses to the fittings on the sides of the valve (see Figure #3). The valve

has the letters A and B engraved on the top of it. Connect the blue RESIN supply hose to the A side. Connect the red ISO supply hose to the B side. Between the dispensing valve and the metering unit, the fluid hoses should be kept as short as possible.

2. Connect the main air supply to the middle hose barb on the handle of the dispensing valve (see Figure #4).

3. For remotely mounted applications, connect the air line to open the dispensing valve to the hose barb closest to the inlet body. Connect the air line to the rear hose barb to close the dispensing valve.

NOTE: Air Line must have a minimum of 60 psi.
