The 10" wide view-angle color LCDpresents a variety of information inalphanumerics and graphics in threedisplay modes.... Speed, Berthing and NavData. Operation is user-friendly by single-function touch keys and a trackball. Thestandard system includes a display unit, aseparate control head and a transducerfixed hull unit.
The compact, high-frequency transducermeasures ship's longitudinal (fore-aft)speed and transverse (athwartship) speed,as well as water speed and direction underthe hull. The transducer generates narrowbeams which reduce the effects ofcavitation. Emission of 3 beams greatlyreduces the effects of ship's pitch/roll. Highlevel of system accuracy is made possibleeven in shallow waters by the use ofsophisticated new circuitry.
As an option, a state-of-the-art Laser Gyrois available. It provides accuratemeasurement of ship's transverse speed atstern without the need to install anothertransducer.

The DS-30 is a precision Doppler Sonar designed to assist berthing manoeuvers of large or heavyvessels such as ferries, container vessels, VLCC and other tankers, where large inertial forcesleave no room for error
.It provides accurate displays of ship's speed over a wide range from dead slow to maximum
.Speeds are detected relative to the ground or water both fore-aft and athwartship. This dead slowcapability is vital for precise docking of mammoth tankers to oil loading/unloading facilities, as wellas safe navigation in narrow channels or straits. Operation at high speed assists economicalcruising in open seas. The DS-30 complies with IMO Resolution MSC.36 (63), MSC.96 (72), A. 694 (17), A.824 (19) and IEC Specifications IEC 61023.
