DONUT – PART 1 Use colour A. Start with a long tail and chain 15. Join to the first ch from the hook with a single crochet. Rnd 1: sc around (15 sts) Rnd 2: inc every 3rd st (20 sts) Rnd 3: inc every 4th st (25 sts) Rnd 4: inc every 5th st (30 sts) Rnd 5: inc every 6th st (35 sts) Rnd 6 – 7: sc around (35 sts) Sl st, f/o and leave a long tail for sewing. DONUT – PART 2 Use colour B. Do the same as Part 1 although you don’t need to leave a long tail for both ends. ASSEMBLY Flip both donut parts inside out. Insert the tail end from the inner ring of Part 1 into your yarn needle and align to the inner ring of Part 2. Begin to whipstitch both parts together and when you’ve reached the end, secure with a tight knot. Snip off excess yarn. Turn the donuts back to the correct side and using the long tail end from Part 1, begin to whipstitch the donut together. For this particular whipstitch method, insert the needle under both loops from Part 1 then insert the needle under the front loop from Part 2. Continue to stitch together and fill with toy stuffing as you go. Do not over fill. Finally, when you have finished filling and stitching the donut, make sure to hide all the yarn ends. Donut is now ready! Make as many and in different colours as you like. Create sprinkles by stitching different coloured yarn in an uneven pattern on top of the donut. Or make a chocolate swirl and use fabric glue to glue on top of the donut.
