Ask caller the status of abuser.

Intoxicated? Impaired? On medication?

Mental illness? History of violence?

If weapons are involved.

When physical violence is heard on phone.

When there is screaming and or medical distress.

Separate parties immediately.

Isolate into another area or room, generally (not always) women will want to leave and go into another guest room.

Guest's departing room to use an alias name,

so other party cannot contact.

The room separations generally works well as

the abuser will not know new location.

Insure proper medical response provide First Aid and medical attention.

Do not delay medical response call 911 for serious medical conditions.

Document abuse reported and observed and actions indicating abuse and impairment.

When to call 911

When dispute is uncontrollable and personal safety is in danger. When victim advises they have been assaulted and would like to make a police report.

When you witness an assault. When there are serious or apparent medical injuries.

Security Officers conduct random patrols of room locations.

Manager and or security to conduct follow up phone calls with parties expressing concern.

Advise guests further disturbances will necessitate having to ask guests to check out of hotel.
