ASE MISSION STATEMENT: The Academy of Scientific Exploration provides a relevant, rigorous, high-quality, standards-based curriculum with an emphasis in mathematics, science, and technology. Students complete a college prep curriculum that fulfills A-G requirements and features community service and project-based learning strategies. To ensure equitable access, students participate in enrichment, intervention and test preparation programs based on individual need determined by multiple data-driven assessments. A character-focused curriculum is embedded throughout the educational experience, and students demonstrate leadership through activities based in collaboration, team building, advocacy, mentorship, community outreach and service. ASE empowers all stakeholders -- parents, teachers, students, administrators, and the community -- to play a vital role in the development of student education, character, and leadership skills.

Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger

Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger landed Flight 1549 in the Hudson River with all passengers/crew surviving.

At the age of five, he decided he wanted to be a pilot.

Before he could drive a car, Sullenberger obtained his pilot’s license.

He was a pilot for US Air for 29 years and is now retired. He travels the country teaching others how to respond in a crisis.

He is married and has two daughters.
