What is Social Media Marketing?

1. Setup a free Google email account
You need the Gmail account before you can setup your
YouTube account.
2. Setup a free YouTube account

3. Upload the video (takes a bit of time)
4. Setup a free blog on Blogspot (Google again)

5. Set up Google analytics on the blog (so you can monitor traffic)
6. Setup a Facebook page

7. Setup a free Twitter account

Approach
Find people, blogs and Facebook pages that have lots of followers / friends / ’likes’...
Look for “influencers” – people who can persuade others to view
Identify topics that link the film to large groups e.g. Irish emigration, LYIT, Donegal,
animation, film festivals, film studies, Irish associations, Irish American organisations,
Irish Australia, Irish in the UK, Queen’s University....
Use all our networks – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and email
Chamber of Commerce, NW Technology forum
Main point – persistence and regular ‘posts’ and updates
Posting to Facebook pages with lots of fans/’likes’ seemed to have most impact
