Dodleston CE Primary School I can do everything through Him who gives me strength Philippians 4:13 We’ll meet again On Monday, we look forward to welcoming back pupils from all year groups. It will not be the togetherness we all would like but it is a start and a definite move in the right direction. This continues to be an unprecedented time and we make no apologies for moving forward with caution, putting our pupils, families, staff and whole community’s safety at the forefront of all decision making. We have been blessed with support from other organisations within our village that has enabled us to bring back more pupils and give them the space to be as safe as possible and enjoy the short time before the end of the term. It will not be the same school community (as before) in terms of our geographical positions as some will be in school, some at home and some in the Village hall however in spirit and in mind, we will always be united as one school community, together, caring and compassionate and giving strength and joy to each other. Lord draw near to us all and help us to continue to look to you in this time of challenge. Give us peace in our every day moments and may our relationships with one another grow in love, at this time and beyond. Prayer for togetherness

Christian Message

Dear Lord, Heavenly Father, as we reopen our school to more pupils, we pray you give everyone in our school community strength for the weeks ahead and for protection for everyone's health and wellbeing. Lord draw near to us all and help us to continue to look to you in this time of challenge. Give us peace in our every day moments and may our relationships with one another grow in love, at this time and beyond. May we be encouraged to live out of a place of increased kindness and to consider our school core values in all that we do. We say this in your name, Amen.

CLASS ONE AND TWO We have been so proud of Class One this week. The work they have been doing

and sending in has been incredible. There have been super descriptions,

excellent comparative language used and lots of new vocabulary inspired by our circus book. In Maths, Reception have been practicing numbers to 20 and 3-D shapes while Year One have compared

numbers within 50.

Class Two have been juggling, and describing the wonderful animals that

Leon has seen at the circus in preparation to write an eye-catching poster. They

have used powerful words to describe the details and practiced using apostrophes. In Maths the children have been thinking about using the information they know to

estimate, solve problems and check whether their answers are correct.

Class Three have continued their topic work on Leon and the Place between. They have explored the possibilities

that may exist inside the place between and have created dialogue between Leon and the Mysterious boy. Also in Maths Year 4 have been working on

acute, obtuse and right angles. Year 5 have been practicing their skills using

and reading a protractor. Class Four have written some excellent

creative pieces of writing this week building up that anticipation of

watching a circus show. They had a go at drama on Zoom to get into the

pages of the book. In Science they have considered life before the

invention of electricity. In Maths they have been interpreting and drawing

their own pie charts.

Leon and the Place Between There have been some fantastic pieces of writing, models built, posters designed and invitations written this week. It is great to see our whole school come together on this shared book. The ‘magic’ is definitely evident in their enthusiasm and engagement both through zoom lessons and independent tasks. Well done all!
