ABOUT PICS
ABOUT PICSShort about the Magazine
PICS is the result of my work as a student between the days on my practice that filled most of my weeks this fall.
I’m a student at Blekinge Institute of Technology where I am studying photography and that’s why PICS is mostly filled with pictures, hence the name; ”PICS”. To develop my graphics sence and to introduce myself more to layout I’ve created this magasine to finally present my work that is ment to inspire. Enjoy!

CORPORATE PORTRAITS08
CORPORATEPORTRAITSA corporate picture is a picture that
should describe the corporate you. It’s supposed to convey what you, your company and/or the employees stand for. A happy and interested face is the most common and your job as a photographer is to make the person look their very best in this kind of picture.
I photographed the hairsaloon Härline’s employees and made series of photos for their window were they wanted the classic, trustworthy corporate-look but also funny poses that shows a playful side aswell. Here they are, enjoy!

THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN DUR-ING A DAY IN A STUDIO. Children and especially babies are very erratic during a photo shoot and it is difficult to pre-plan exactly which photos will be taken. The classic and most com-mon is the image of a smiling child, as shown to the right in this spread. This is usually what we want to hang on the wall and remember. Some-times it can be fun to also have pictures of what
went wrong. Misstakes it is a part of life and I think that these situations also are worth to remember and perpetuate. As an example of this we have the picture above where baby Ellie is fully immersed by the balloon and do not understand us adults who wants her to sit facing the camera.

In this section we meet the Aalo sisters: Alicia and Elin.
Children behave differently during photoshoots, depending on age but of course also their personality and mood. I will in this section describe briefly how I experience the situation as a photographer when these pic-tures were shot.

ALICIAAlicia is seven years old and it is common for children in this age, and especially for girls, that they are becoming self-concsious. As a photogra-pher you have to find the balace between fun and seriousness when you’re trying to connect with the individual to get a good smile.

ELINElin Is three years old. With small children such as her, a funny face or sound could be enough to get at laugh or a smile in return!

”Golden Guardian” was an interesting series of images to photograph because it was the first time I photographed a snake. It’s said that children and animals are the hardest to work with on a shoot but I think it was harder to photograph a snake than to photograph a child since a child at least reacts to sound and movement. My model Louise Berg kept her focus during the shoot and that made it a whole lot easier.
THE MEMORIESCAPTIVEIs to the viewer to figure out. These pictures are ment to be artistic instead of commer-cial, meaning that they’re not ment to sell any products, it’s ment to give a feeling. Sophia Johansson is the model and these pictures are also shot in a studio.

THE MEMORIES
TALE ofAUTUMNThis is a serie of pictures shot outdoors, early in the fall. Our model Tove Fast is showing different outfits for the season and it’s meant to speak to the viewer and convey the feeling of a warm day of autumn. The picture is shot with different photo techniques such as existing light and one flash, existing light and reflective screen and finally only existing light.
