Paul Flynn has more than 23years of experience in the

Key Projects

Americas Styrenics – Torrence CA

February 2015

Overseeing the decontamination of PCB paint following

asbestos insulation abatement by copper media blasting on

a Polystyrene Manufacturing Train. All worked performed

in containment under negative air. This was followed

immediately with complete restoration, painting,

fireproofing and reinsulating of the train to restore it to full

operation.

Alta Gas- Ferndale, WA

November 2014

Worked for a petroleum client in Ferndale Washington for

their T-1 tank inspection turnaround. Tasks included

inerting Nitrogen for Butane removal. Thermal Oxidizers

were used to burn exalted Butane. Permit required

Confined Space entry along with Working at Heights in a

Confined space required a detailed rescue plan using a

crane along with a contingency plan with the local fire

Department. All BMPs and containments were inspected

daily to maintain site run off to meet state requirements.

FMC – Newark CA

September 2014

Performed Field Safety officer duties as a third party

oversight of dismantlement and removal of all

aboveground DPE treatment system components. All assets

were separated for resale and recycling. CAL OSHA rules

and regulations were followed for EDB and appropriate

waste streams were sent for disposal.

Conoco Phillips- Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana

March-July 2014

Worked for a key petroleum client in the Atchafalaya Basin

in Louisiana, to remove abandoned flow, lift, and return

lines coming from P&A well heads. Work included FSO

duties for oversight of hot tap and pumping procedures.

Benzene and four gas monitoring were completed for safe

operations. Crane barges along with supporting barges

were utilized to contain the seven different waste streams

that were accumulated throughout the project. Small

structural demo was also completed.

Horsehead Zinc Smelter – Monaca, PA

February – August 2014

Served as a field safety officer during decontamination and

demolition of the former zinc smelter facility in Monaca

Pennsylvania. Performed Subsurface Clearance EP duties

for Utility disconnects. Safety oversight of subcontractors

during asbestos and universal waste removal, and

demolition of onsite structures. Responsible for permitting

and multiple work areas and safety procedures were

followed. Provided support for daily site documentation

and project completion report.

Superfund site in Bridgeport, NJ

2012-2014

Conducted O&M on bio slurping equipment/ belt

skimmers and pneumatic skimmers for extraction of

LNAPL (free product) from groundwater at a New Jersey

Superfund site. Work included maintaining operation of

systems, weekly gauging of wells, and sampling of treated

water.

DG Hunter Power Plant – Alexandria, LA

December 2013

Performed Field Safety officer duties for oversight of a

glove bag technique, which included the removal of

approximately 54 total lineal feet of TSI of ACM

SKF – St. Louis, MO

October 2013

Performed all site activities that included the set up and

removal of all well injection equipment for the remediation

of known contaminants. Sodium Permanganate was mixed

to a pre-determined concentration set by the Project

Manager.

EnerSys – Omaha, Nebraska

September 2013

Management of operations and implementation of health

and safety for decontamination of a lead battery

maintenance and repair facility in Omaha NE.

January – August 2013

Performed Field Safety Officer duties and oversight at the

Marine Shale Processors Hazardous Waste incinerator.

Work included demolition of several bag houses and

ancillary structures and buildings. A Demag lattice boom

308 ton crane was used to pick down three oxidizer units

and one stack in height of 150’. Onsite stabilization of

hazardous waste using Cal cement for T&D. Oversight of

asbestos abatement of a secondary kiln was performed

utilizing confined space entry procedures.

ALCO Industries – Whiteford, MD

October – December 2012

Formulated a site-specific HASP for on-site activities that

involved soil sampling contaminated with arsenic,

chromium, and hexavalent chromium. Dust monitoring

procedures were implemented to include PELs for these

COCs. Oversight of sediment and erosion control

inspections and excavation activities as a third- party

consultant to the client.

Sanofi Aventis – Bridgewater, NJ

September – December 2012

Provided confirmation of proper decontamination of

several pharmaceutical laboratory buildings were done in

accordance with internal laboratory post-vacancy

requirements. A weekly log (with photo- documentation) of

on-site progress was completed. Conducted visual site

inspections of all sink traps for mercury, using an Ohio

Lumex 915 mercury analyzer to detect mercury vapor.

Bayer Crop Science – Institute, WV

August – October 2012

Performed Field Safety Officer duties and oversight of a

demolition subcontractor. Work included the demolition of

four hazardous waste storage tanks and decontamination of

a high- pressure steam boiler and precipitator. Reviewed

confined space entry and fall protection procedures for

work on the boilers and precipitator.

Thermo Fisher Scientific – Woburn MA

June 2012

Performed Field Safety Officer duties of an office space and

laboratory decommissioning project, to prepare for lease

termination. Responsibilities included oversight and record

keeping of daily progress reports, along with permitting.

Revised JHAs to include generator cleaning on roof.

Princeton University – Princeton, NJ

Summer 2012

Conducted H&S meetings and obtained all permits

required for subsurface clearance and critical zone

disturbance at a university campus. Assisted in soil

sampling for waste characterization and delineation of

metals and VOCs.

Ametek US Gauge – Sellersville, PA

Spring 2012

Performed Field Safety Officer duties on an industrial

manufacturing facility demolition project and provided

record maintenance for waste removal tracking.

Responsibilities included issuing permits for daily tasks,

safety oversight of site activities, and conducting safety

meetings.

PADEP / MDE – Multiple sites in PA & MD

2008 -2009

Led H&S efforts and was responsible for revisions of on-

site H&S documents for site- specific operations.

Performed drilling activities on several projects for the

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection

(PADEP) and the Maryland Department of the

Environment (MDE), which included cluster wells and

packer testing for fracture contamination and delineation.

Valero and Sunoco refineries– Delaware City,

Philadelphia and Marcus Hook. PA

2007 -2009

Managed and facilitated multiple long term drilling and

soil sampling projects for Delaware Department of Natural

Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), (PADEP),

and (MDE) to identify and delineate the confining layer in

Delaware City. Prepared and revised a HASP for specific

on-site tasks and was responsible for HASP

implementation.
