OBJECTIVE To be a team member where I can contribute my knowledge and skills for the benefit of the facility. I have many years’ experience as a surgical technologist. My skills also include materials management, medical assistant.

I started my career as a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario. I worked at the same facility for approximately 20+ years. During this time I gained valuable experience working in several departments (long term care, rehab, radiology, surgery).

A valuable perception that I have gained from having the opportunity to work in different departments is you can never understand how another department works unless you have worked in that department.

SKILLS & ABILITIES With so many years’ experience, and being fortunate to get experience in so many specialties. I have acquired many skills to be able to function very well in many environments.

I adapt very easily to new situations I am not afraid of change. I can take lead where necessary.

I have acquired skills working in surgery as a surgical tech, in a doctor’s office as a medical assistant, in a lab as a lab assistant, in therapy as a therapy assistant, materials manager for surgery centers. I also worked as a licensed real estate agent in a very busy real estate office.

STERILE PROCESSING TECH

As a sterile processing tech my responsibility is to make sure that we have everything ready for our surgical cases. There is a lot of responsibility in making sure that we have received all loner equipment from outside reps. Processing instruments, carefully checking to make sure they are all clean and in optimum working condition. Assembling instruments, sterilizing, and making sure we have what is needed. Organization skills are a must, as are skills for prioritizing.

During this time I also worked in the capacity of assistant for Dermatologist, General Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon, and an Orthopedic surgeon. I worked in the office of these specialties and went to surgery with them to assist with cases.

My responsibilities in the office included office duties as necessary, ordering patient tests, scheduling surgeries, and tests as needed.

When I received this I moved to Kentucky and gained much experience traveling to different facilities.
