_______________________________________________________________ Personal Statement I am currently in my third year of undergraduate studies with Cardiff University and I am seeking a summer placement that will give me new challenges and help me in my personal development. Following graduation, my ambition is to follow a career in marketing. I have a lively and bubbly personality and flourish in an environment where I am working with people. My team-working skills are well developed and I find I can quickly adapt to new working environments and new challenges. I am confident interacting with customers and particularly enjoy the positive feedback when customers have had a great experience. Conscientious and with an attention to detail, I like to work hard and ensure deadlines are met. I am quick to learn and enjoy flourishing in challenging situations. I lived in France as a young teenager and worked my way through the French education system until returning to the UK with my family at the age of 16. I am now participating in the European Erasmus scheme for a year, based in Toulouse, as part of my undergraduate studies at Cardiff University. My time in France has given me a taste for, and understanding of living and learning in a different culture which has been incredibly rewarding.

Managing People-I wrote an essay on recruitment and selection methods for a theme park based in Wales. Operational Management- where I focused on Ikea’s supply chain. Previous Employment 2014 English teacher (November to present) Private tuition Every week, I teach 3 French boys English Language and Conversation. This has improved my communication, time Management and teaching skills. 2013 Office Angels (June-August) Recruitment Consultants. Contracted out to a planning consultancy company, PCL, based in Exeter, Devon. I was head administrator and the first point contact for the company both over the phone, digitally and face-to-face. I worked on Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) on a daily basis. I also helped the company initiate a new financial and client record database and helped the company initiate training. 2012 Dorothy Perkins (June-August) High-street Fashion Retailer. As a Sales advisor I was given my own fashion section in store to manage and I contributed to the window display; taking part in visual merchandising activities. I worked as part of a team on a daily basis which included stock taking and selling Burton and DP accounts to clients to meet weekly specific targets. 2012-2013 The Cats Protection (July-September) Non-profit organisation for cats. As a volunteer I helped the staff tame the cats and kittens for rehoming. We all worked as part of a team to advertise our cats and kittens and also I helped out at fundraising events that were held 4 times a year. 2011-2013 The Café (May- August) A vibrant café in the town of Topsham, Exeter. As a waitress and a qualified Barista, my time here was spent as part of an organised team where we believed in delivering high quality service with a smile. 2010-2011 The Angel Bar (June-March) A typical English pub located in central Exeter. My role as a bar assistant here involved maintaining a clean, hygienic environment, working as part of a team and learning how to cope with challenging customers.

2009 Quay Brassiere (May-September) A French restaurant/Deli located in Topsham, Devon. My responsibilities were food handling, waitressing, use of touch screen tills, preparing and serving wine and being a team player.
