PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

United States Army National Guard Cape Girardeau, MO

Executive Officer, Headquarters Company, 1140th Engineer Battalion May 2014 – Present

Supervise the daily operations of the company. This comprises ensuring full attendance of all soldiers in the company for required training functions, working with personnel staff to verify that each soldier in the company has required military education and medical examinations vital to their readiness, working with supply staff to keep the company’s equipment up to date and in good condition, ordering new equipment and weapons to replace deficiencies in quality and quantity, and leading unit maintenance inspections to guarantee all vehicles and equipment are fully operational.

Serve as the wellness contact for the company. Responsibilities include preparing slideshows on topics such as alcohol/substance abuse prevention, automobile safety, suicide prevention, and the Sexual Harassment Awareness and Resistance Program. Present these topics in a clear and concise manner that encourages participation in a safe learning environment. Provide the soldiers in the company with resources to receive assistance, and make myself available as a point of contact in the event that a soldier needs direct outreach.

As appointed deputy company commander, it is my job to familiarize myself with the unit training calendar and do individual research/planning in the event that I assume command of the company. This incorporates reviewing the battalion mission essential task list and planning contingencies for training events in case current plans require modification.

Counsel non-commissioned officers in the company to reach a mutual understanding that their sections are accomplishing required objectives. Examples include inspecting rifles and other weapons to certify that the supply staff are keeping weapons clean and serviceable, checking vehicle parts to confirm that each vehicle is functioning, and validating that soldiers who have earned awards have received them from their first line leaders. If there are shortages in any goals being met, it is my duty to provide a plan to the non-commissioned officer that will complete the task.

Completion of Engineer Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Leonard Wood, MO from June- November 2015.

Expedia, Inc. Springfield, MO

Fraud Analyst January 2015- Present

Monitor ‘Zeus’, a real-time queue comprised of various points of sale under the company brand (including Expedia.com, Hotels.com, and Expedia Affiliate Networks), to analyze high-risk hotel, flight, and activity reservations scored through Aegis software in order to determine if the transaction was purchased through fraudulent activity.

Utilize link history analysis software on ‘Zeus’ , public records, social media, ‘Sabre’ credit card verification software, ‘Accertify’ device identification, outgoing phone calls, and account history to triangulate and establish a relationship between the credit card holder and the buyer.

Use SQL database to run queries to retrieve data that provide information for reports on global fraud trends, help the company anticipate future fraudulent activity in specific locations, and escalate bugs and malicious content on the company server.

For the year 2015, I prevented an average of $4,950 in potential fraud-related chargebacks for the company while reviewing 102.5 transactions per day.

Use SQL and cancellation history from individual hotels to complete projects that establish trends and MO rules for specific regions and fraud groups. An example involved using data from links to fraud on specific email addresses to determine that a fraud group in Malaysia was using credit cards from the United States and the United Kingdom to book third-party hotel reservations as soon as they received access to the credit card and billing address.
