Mike Alder is President of Unitas Dental. He received his degree from the University of Utah while studying to enter dental school. However, after graduation he accepted a full-time position at a small, struggling medical insurance company. While delving into learning about the industry, he became intrigued by the relationship between the dental provider and the dental PPO insurance companies. He was familiar with the insurance world as he maintained responsibility himself over medical and dental benefits for his medical company.

One of the emerging areas in organizational success and development relates to “appreciation” and specifically the impact of appreciation in the workplace. We know that individuals in the workplace need to feel appreciated in order to enjoy their job, do their best work, have positive work relationships and stay with their organizations long-term.
In this session, you will learn how to:• Understand the importance of appreciation
• Incorporate the five languages of appreciation
• Put the five appreciation languages to work
• Utilize the Tools for showing appreciation, making it become an organizational habit
• Express genuine appreciation to co-workers and patients
• Create a more positive work environment
• Improve everyone’s ability to show appreciation for difficult co-workers or patients
• Individualize expressions of appreciation by speaking the right appreciation “language”
This workshop will be delivered by Ms. Fran Pangakis and Ms. Shari Tastad, who are certified facilitators of the appreciation-at-work training process, along with Tim Twigg.
Tim Twigg brings over 30 years of practice management and business consulting experience and knowledge specifically in the healthcare field. He has authored a 100-page workbook/audio program, contributed to two practice management books and is a published author of articles for many major healthcare journals. His expertise extends to leadership and business development, strategic planning and marketing, and communication skills with an emphasis on personnel and employment law compliance.
