Entering Assignments into Illuminate GradeBooks

**It is extremely important that when you enter assignments into your GradeBooks, you link your assignments to standards. If you do not link your assignments to standards, then the standards grades will not automatically populate on your report card.**

The following subjects require assignments linked to standards: Language Arts/Literacy Math Science Social Studies

Assignments in the following subjects can also be linked to standards: Physical Education Visual & Performing Arts Elective Courses

The Steps…

1. Log on to Illuminate Education.https://lancaster.illuminateed.com/live/?prev_page=DashboardPage&page=SisLogin

2. Select “My GradeBooks”

3. Click on the GradeBook’s title to select the GradeBook you want to enter an assignment into.

4. Select “Assignments” and select “Add Assignment.”

5. Give your assignment a “Short Name,” which will be displayed on your assignment list in your GradeBook. Also give your assignment a “Description,” which should be longer and more detailed, and will be displayed when viewing the assignment details.

6. (Optional) If you have set up assignment tags, select which tags to associate the assignment with.

7. (Optional) If you have set up weighted categories, select the category for your assignment.

8. Select the Assignment Date and the Due Date.

9. (Optional) You can save the assignment to additional GradeBooks if desired.

10. Select “Link to Standards.”

11. Select the appropriate subject.

Language Arts/Literacy College- and Career- Readiness Standards and K-12 English Language Arts (2010)

Science ContentScience (1998)

History/Social Science ContentHistory-Social Science (1998)

This includes Literacy Standards in Science & Technical Subjects and Literacy Standards in History/Social Sciences for grades 6th-8th.

12. Select your grade level and select “Search.”

13. Select “+” when necessary to expand visible standards. This is very important when searching for your Reading Literature and Reading Informational Text standards.

14. Select your desired standards and select “Link Standards.”

15. Return to your GradeBook and input grades.
