About the Festival

2 0 1 8

Doc Edge is an Oscar qualifying and Australasia‘s premier international documentary film

festival held annually since 2005. City venues are Q Theatre in Auckland and the Roxy

Cinema, Wellington. More than 17,000 people attended the Festival in 2017 and

experienced a showcase portfolio of over 50 award-winning and critically acclaimed

documentaries from New Zealand and around the world.

The 13th edition of Doc Edge Festival will be held from 9 May to 4 June 2018.

The Festival includes:

• Screenings + Q&A sessions with filmmakers and guests

• Gala film awards

• Doc Talks - a series of curated public talks

• Docs 4 Schools - an educational programme for students

• Screen Edge Forum – screen industry conference

• Story Edge World Exhibition – for digital interactive storytelling projects

The Festival programme provides audiences with comprehensive film details, screenings schedules,

listings of special events and sponsors and supporters. It is often kept as a memento afterwards.

Programmes are widely distributed via Phantom Bill Stickers throughout Auckland and Wellington

CBD and city regions from April to the end of the Festival in June. Copies are available at the festival

venues and selected key locations including libraries and community centres and from our office.
