1 N ewsletter November Pre - Primary Science Exhibition The school exhibition that is held in Johnson Grammar School is a great platform for the kids to showcase their scientific skills. It is always essential for the school to organize exhibitions and such kind of events where the kids get some chance for their talents. Students of the JGS Pre-primary put up a science exhibition. . Different venues had been allotted to different classes. On every entering assigned venue, one could feed the pulse and magnitude of the event. The entire campus was abuzz with energy and admiration. The exhibits included models of different states and their real tastes and community helpers etc. It was a wonderful sight to see the small ones dressed up in different attires and speak on their topic with confidence. The chief guest, principal and visitors were quite impressed with dedicated and grasp of students and appreciated their endeavours in cultivating a scientific temper.

Orange Colour Day

Our world is full of colours. Colours are the miles of the nature. A very important part of learning in kindergarten is identification and recognition of colours. Orange is fun, flamboyant,

dynamic and radiates warmth. It stimulates imagination and creativity. On 12th November, orange colour day is celebrated at JGS Pre-Primary wing with great zeal and zest. The classrooms and corridors were beautifully decorated with orange colour. Children were asked to wear orange dress. Orange colour corner was also displayed in the classroom and explained the significance of the colour. Children did many activities using the orange colour as a theme. All the little learners enjoyed and

learnt a lot. Beautiful hand-outs were given to the children to take home.

Chi ldren?s Day Children?s Day celebrat ions focus on children and their enjoyment. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter popularly known as Cha-Cha. Children?s Day is celebrated on November 14th every year on the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, who was fond of children. The occasion is celebrated in JGS with grand splendour and fiesta. Children came in colourful dress. The day began with prayer, conducted by the teachers. . A magic show was organized for the children. The celebrat ion cont inues with music and dances. Children enjoyed the music and played with balloons. Sweets were distributed among the children. The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy of colourfully dressed children.

Diwali Celebration From darkness to light that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deeds. It brings us closer to divinity. The celebration of Diwali, ?The Festival of lights? came alive at Pre Primary wing when all the twinkling stars wore a festive look in traditional dress. The tiny tots enjoyed colouring diyas and decorating them. The kids posed for photographs with their diyas. Besides sensitizing students to the ill

effects of crackers, the teachers shared the guidelines on being safe.

Popsicle st ick crafts have been favour i tes of al l . Popsicle is the best craft supply that r epresents hours of fun. To enhance the ar t of r ecycl ing m ater ials the pre-pr im ary chi ldren had a lot of fun in m ak ing di fferent im ages with di fferent coloured Popsicle st icks in their scrap book . Recit at ion Com pet it ion

Recitation is a mode of expression medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones. Rhymes prove to be an instrumental stepping stone for young children to develop verbal skills and boost their confidence. Keeping this in mind, English recitation competition for PPI & PPII was organized on the theme ?Animals?. The enthusiastic kids recited different rhymes on animals in their melodious voice with proper actions and rhythm. It was a fun filled competition.

Fruit s Day

We ?Fruit Day? with the Pre-primary children. The object ive of the event was to create awareness among children about the importance of consumption of fruits in regular diets. About 90 per cent of a child?s brain develops by the age of five and hence parents must ensure that children have a daily intake of one fruit . Each student brought one variety of fruit that was first displayed and then cut it make a fruit salad that was offered to the children. Teachers urged children to eat more fruits with every meal. To explain to the children uses of various fruits, they were made to dress and enact the role of fruit . It was a day with a difference for these lit t le ones. When they celebrated ?Fruit Day? the programme was part of a novel method of familiarising children with fruits and more important ly making them understand that fruits were essent ial part of daily meal
