from your lieutenant governor

Hello my dear Division, Time flies, and the new school year is already in swing! Once again, I’d like to wish you the best of luck in your studies and aspirations this year. School starting also has a positive side to it— Key Club and meetings coming back into full bloom I am confident that we will have a fantastic year. This is the prime time for meeting attendance, to volunteer, and to put projects into action. I look forward to visiting your club meetings this month! Please don’t be afraid to ask questions or just say hi. Lastly, don’t forget to promote, promote, and promote! Bring your friends to meeting, advertise it at your school, and show people why they should join our wonderful organization. I know that the school year can be a very stressful time, and I’d once again like to reiterate that I am always here for you!

In love and service,

Jenny Feng Lieutenant Governor of Division 32 Pacific Northwest District of Key Club International [email protected]

Dear PNW Key Clubbers,

I hope everyone has had a great start of the school year, and you know what the start of the school year means... Your club’s first Key Club Meeting! Key Club is in full bloom, and I can’t wait to see what your clubs are doing for service and fund-raisers! Remember, if you show how pas-sionate you are for Key Club others will be inspired to join. Be proud to be a Key Clubber and remember to exemplify leadership and character, while always being inclusive and caring to those around you.

Meeting all of you at the rallies was so inspiring; you are all constantly dedicating your time and love to the communities across the Pacific Northwest. I love how you represent key club with your pride and spirit while showing the dedication and compassion you hold for others.

As always, remember the district board is here for the mem-bers and clubs. Please feel free to contact us at any time with your questions or concerns. I hope to see y’all at DCON 2015!

Lisa Antonio

On Saturday, August 30th, Key Clubbers from Divisions 22/24, 26, 27, 28, and 32 gathered at Robinswood Park in Bellevue for a Capture the Flag tournament. We started off with Division 28 vs. everyone else, and soon moved to games of randomized members so that we could all mingle. Division 28 clearly showed their prowess in the game of Capture the Flag, but every single Key Clubber showed their fantastic sportsmanship and enthusiasm even in the unfortunate weather. The August Divisional Council Meeting was a great way to end the summer!

SEPTEMBER DCM INFO

WHAT: MANDATORY Officer Training WHEN: Friday, September 19th WHERE: Maple Valley Library WHY: To train officers for the upcoming year! I know that you all are aware of your basic officer duties taught at rallies and DCON, but I will be going more in depth on how to go above and beyond in your positions. Members are welcome to come if they wish; this is a great experience for those of you who have aspirations to run for Key Club office in the future.

SPIRIT STICK DECORATING PARTY: Due to the nature of the September DCM, we will be having a “second DCM”. We will decorate the Seattle Rally Spirit Stick! This will take place at my house,

tentatively on September 27th.

The Division 32 Projects Committee has been hard at

work planning their first fundraiser!

Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play (WWDOP) is an

annual event in which Nickelodeon encourages

people of all ages to go outside and engage in active

play. In celebration, we will be hosting a Field Day at

Kentridge High School’s new football field.

There will be two activities taking place— bumble

soccer and capture the flag.

Capture the Flag admission: $3

Bumble Soccer admission: $6

Admission for both: $8

Show us proof that you have “liked” Bumble Soccer’s

Facebook page at the event and save $1.

This event is open to EVERYONE! Make sure to spread

the word. It will be a blast!

0/1000 MET

GOAL: 1000 POINTS

The new point system will not

be a contest between separate

clubs, but a collective effort of

the division to earn points!

If we earn 1000 points by

DCON, the Lieutenant Gov-

ernor will be subject to

“punishment”, and the divi-

sion will get some kind of re-

ward. (the specifics of that are

to be announced!)

Additional ways to earn points

may be added in the future.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change and taking part in March of

Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies.

Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it’s

helping The Eliminate Project.
