18 Where there is no prophetic vision the
people cast off restraint, but blessed is he
who keeps the law.
19 By mere words a servant is not
disciplined, for though he understands, he
will not respond.
21 Many are the plans in the mind of a
man, but it is the purpose of the LORD
that will stand.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and
do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and
He will make straight your paths.
22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.
23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.
24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.
Psalm 66:18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have
listened.
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit
from me.
22 I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.

22 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.
1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.
2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,
4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
