Division 21!
I don’t know about you guys, but I am extremely excited that November has now
rolled in. I think we all need the Teacher’s Convention Break and Thanksgiving
Holiday to recuperate, especially after such a long marking period without any days
off. Despite these breaks, I know this month will be very busy for me with all my
college visits taking place almost every other week. What plans do you guys have in
store?
Another cool thing about November is that the first week is officially Key Club Week!
See Page Six for cool ideas your club can try out to celebrate all things about Key
Club. Since this week will be cut short because of the Teacher’s Convention Break, I
will allow our Division to celebrate the whole entire month of November as Key
Club/CSH Month. This will allow you all to have plenty of time to perform service
projects and hold fundraisers to benefit CSH.
You guys are all doing an excellent job and you make my job as LTG easy because I
can rely on all of you to do your part and help me out when I need it. Check out the
Things to Think About also on Page Six for other things to consider aside from your
usual officer duties. Please pay special attention to the Dues section on Page Seven.
Thank you guys so much and I hope you all enjoy the time we have off from school!
Yours in Caring and in Service,
Gabrielle Gutierrez
Lieutenant Governor of Division 21

Presidents’ Council Meeting
Jeff has been a great example of a president
these past months—especially as a senior who
asides from Key Club presidential duties has
college applications and tons of other senior
activities. He has attended my 1st, 3rd, and 4th
PCMs: which is an excellent example of his
responsible presidency since he is able to
communicate the fundraisers, NJ District
information, and anything else back to his club.
He also was dedicated in his efforts of
publicizing Fall Rally and was able to have 38
members from his club attend. Jeff is a great
president and has carried out his duties above and beyond!

Division 21’s Role:
As you may have read in the flyer on the
previous page, Generosity Rocks is a new
project for the New Jersey District Project:
Children’s Specialized Hospital. Besides the
fact that the musical competition will be
very fun and a great opportunity bond with
fellow Key Club members and to see the
musical talent in each club and division, all
the proceeds will help benefit Children’s
Specialized Hospital.
I know Division 21 has a lot of musical talent! Let’s take
advantage of that and have our own Generosity Rocks
Concert for Division 21! I will let all of you know when I
find and successfully confirm a venue. For now, publicize
to your clubs with the attached flyer in this newsletter as
well as other resources I will send you. Remember: this
event is not limited to Key Club Members! As long as a
participant is in high school, they may take part!
Division 21 will also be holding a Divisional Project Ribbon
Sale for CSH. Those who attended the 4th PCM received
starter ribbons, but a new set will be sent out in the next
few days. Clubs must each sell at least 100 (1 ribbon for
$1) Please continue to sell, even if you reach that goal!
(See Page Eight for more information)
UNICEF:
Please send all donations collected from Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF by mail to P.O. Box 447 Roseland, NJ
07068. Make all checks payable to Key Club International with a memo for UNICEF.
KEY CLUB WEEK:
Table created by
District Secretary
Kevin Sun
THE JERSEY KEY:
Submit to the Jersey Key! You don’t have to be an officer or the best journalist in the world to submit.
Artwork and photography may be submitted as well.
Check out the Advice Column on the NJ District Website. If you have any questions for the Governor herself,
you can ask her in confidentiality there!
Nominate an Outstanding Member/Advisor! They will be honored when they see their name in the Jersey
Key.
Please talk to me or Editor Nicole Darrah ([email protected]) for more information.
PREPARING FOR DCON:
Sure it is a couple months down the road but it is important to begin to prepare fundraising for DCON,
especially with recent budget cuts
Raise money for bussing and/or fundraise to lower the costs for each member from your club to attend
Ask Kiwanis for some assistance
LTG ELECTIONS
Believe it or not, we must begin to prepare for my successor! The date, time, and location for the 2011-2012
Lieutenant Governor of Division 21 Election will be sent to all of you within the next few days
Please begin to ask any underclassmen from their clubs if they would be interested in the position. If you are
an underclassmen officer, please look into the position as well
If anyone has any questions regarding the responsibilities of a Lieutenant Governor, talk to me!

DUES
It s that time of year again time for your clubs to
pay their dues to Key Club International! Since the Early Bird Dues Deadline has already passed,
it is time to prepare for the final December 1st Deadline. Here are some FAQs about dues:
Page Seven
Will my club receive an award if we submit dues after Nov. 1st, but before Dec. 1st?
Unfortunately, no. The Early Bird Dues Award is only awarded to those clubs who
postmarked their dues by November 1, 2010.
How much do dues cost?
Dues cost $12.
How much may my club charge?
Your club may charge up to $5.50; therefore the highest price of dues is $17.50 (with
$5.50 going to your club and $12 contributing towards Official Dues)
Where does the money for dues go towards so I can explain to my members why they
must pay dues?
Dues pay for the District Mailing (the envelopes of important information Presidents
receive) and the publication of the Jersey Key. They also contribute to the NJ District budget,
which includes board members’ costs to carry out their jobs, and board meetings. Various
events, such as RTCs and International Convention are aided in cost by the budget.
Where do I send my check and invoice to?

Important Reminders
Presidents’ Club Call Day:
Presidents, please don’t forget to call me on your club’s call day! See below
for your scheduled date if you forgot it. Remember, this is a way we will
ensure communication between us, especially with all of our busy schedules
Dues:
The previous page listed some FAQs about Dues. If there are any other
questions regarding Dues, please ask either me or District Treasurer Devan
Corona ([email protected]) Remember, the deadline for your
invoices and checks is Wednesday, December 1st.
CSH Ribbon Sale:
Starter ribbons were given out at the October PCM. More ribbons will be sent
to each president’s address within the next couple days. Each club must sell
100 ribbons (1 ribbon for $1) If you reach this goal, please continue to sell!
Money will be turned into me at the December PCM. I will let you all know
via text message when I send the ribbons out.
November PCM:
We decided at the October PCM that from now on, we will plan the next
month’s PCM at PCMs. By doing this, it will allow me to know which days are
good/bad for presidents as well as any sport, extracurricular, or work
conflict. The four presidents and I decided that the November PCM will take
place on Wednesday, November 24th. The location and times are to be
announced. This is the day before Thanksgiving (most schools have a ½ day)
so there shouldn’t be any conflicts. Please let me know immediately if you
know you cannot attend.
