Vision

VALUESPROTECT–TheCommissionwillprotectthehealth,safety,andwellbeingofDistrictcombatsportsathletes.

PARTNER–TheCommissionwillpartnerwiththecommunity,promoters,gyms,officials,themedicalcommunity,andotherkeystakeholderstostrengthencombatsportsintheDistrict.

PROMOTE – The Commission will promote the District through well-run events, ethicalconduct,andthoughtful,forward-thinkingregulation.

BUILDINGTHEPLANThisStrategicPlanwilloutlinethefocusandprioritiesoftheDistrictofColumbiaBoxingandWrestlingCommission(the”Commission”)forthenextfive(5)years.ThegoalistofurnishtheCommissionwithtools that can be utilized to help execute its mission and vision in an increasingly competitivelandscape, create benchmarks for combat sports participants in the District, and implement bestpractices.To develop the Strategic Plan, input was gathered from numerous stakeholders including combatsportsvenues,gymowners,schools,governmentofficials,athletes,promoters,trainers,andotherkeystakeholders.TheStrategicPlanisalivingdocumentthatwillencourageparticipationandinspiration.STRATEGICGOALSTheBoxingandWrestlingCommission’sstrategicplanidentifiesfive(5)strategicgoals,whichsupportandcontributetotheCommission’soverallphilosophyandvision.GOAL #1: PROTECT THE HEALTH, WELLNESS, & SAFETY OF COMBAT SPORT ATHLETES – TheCommissionwill foster a safe and healthy environment for regulated, competitive combat sportingevents.GOAL #2: OPERATIONAL EFFICIENY & EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COMMISSION - Ensure theCommission’s structure and procedures work efficiently to ensure its ability to provide effectiveregulationandoversightGOAL#3:INCREASECOMMISSIONVISIBILITY&ACCESSIBILITY–Proactivelycommunicatethemission,visionandgoalsoftheCommission.GOAL #4: INCREASE COMMUNITY AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION – Establish frameworks to engage,develop,andsupportcommunityandyouthparticipationinamateurandprofessionalcombatsportsGOAL #5: INCREASE THE NUMBER OF COMBAT SPORTING EVENTS IN THE DISTRICT – EstablishprocessestoincreaseprofessionalandamateureventsintheDistrict.
