  • Kasganj, situated on the banks of river Kali, the town is in proximity of the

Himalayas foothills. It is located in the Doab, the area between the holy rivers Ganges

and Yamuna and the alluvium soil makes the land one of the most fertile regions. This

is testified by the large number of settlements in the form of villages around the town

where the village population chiefly depends on agriculture and related economic

    activities.

Patiyali tehsil is a historical nagar in Kanshiram Nagar district.. It is the

birthplace of Amir Khusro. Patiyali is a constituency of District Kashiram Nagar. A

hundred years ago the river Ganges flowed thorough Patiyali Quila. Nowadays it is

  • General Law and Order

The District Kanshiram Nagar is quiet peaceful with no records of any major break

down of Law and Order. It was formerly part of district Etah.

The remote areas of Tehsil patiyali spans most of the ganga katari area and was

dacoits-infested earlier, but now-a-days it is very normal due to developement of roads

and location of new Bastis etc.

Political acridity is very high in Assembly Constitueny of Patiyali. This area is

very sensitive due to in-fighting over small issues. Ganjdundwara is most sensitive area

due to communal acridity. Over than hundred persons were killed in BABARI MASZID

sectarian riots in 1990 in Ganjdundwara town area. No major incidents of such kind have

been recently recorded in the district since then.

Main concern in district Kanshiram Nagar is that many town areas have mixed

    population of Hindu and Muslims.

    Past Election Offence

District Kanshiram Nagar was not formed diring Assembly Elections 2007.

However there are no electoral offences recorded in tehsils Kasganj and Patiyali which

were part of formerly district ETAH. Parliament elections in 2009 were peaceful and no
